    Move to (or just study in) Canada. Those $500 scholarships are half a semesters' tuition, and there's less competition to boot. UBC (not my alma mater) has a good CS/IT department, just for an example.

    Also an option. If every woman had 2.1 children average (the stat's from my sociology textbook), the population of the planet (and therefore our resource usage) would not change. However, this may have implications to a capitalist economy which depends on constant growth, so don't expect to see ads or government programs any time soon supporting the 0 population growth people.

    Not neccessarily...

    Sometimes it's better to try and spread a viewpoint rather than enact it in certain ways. For example, my contribution is that I will not now, nor will I ever have children.

    Actually, quite a few... my father not being the least removed of them. It's a shitty way to die, but I still maintain that some sense of population control (through natural rather than political means) is a good idea

    My guess would be the often quoted, yet extremely minor quote "Religion is the opiate of the masses" -K. Marx, Das Kapital. They take this to mean that the idea of faith is inherently anti-communist. In reality, he was talking about the religious status quo eliminating any drive for change amongst the proletariat through various means (like radio talk shows, or the republican party).

    and if launched in time of peace (as per terrorist attack) and kept in unregulated airspace could get within seconds of it's target without radar being an issue.

    Without transponder squelching or radio contact, doubtful. If you were to fly low enough over any urban area, the FAA/Transport Canada/Whoever would be on your ass in a heartbeat.
    Not to mention that without either an N number or a country code (C-Gxxx) you won't be allowed in the sky, and with one they can trace the origins of the aircraft

    88 MPH isn't that bad... 76kts and change... stall speed of the Cessna 152 power off flaps up is 48kts and it cruises at about 91kts

    Speaking of auto-payroll... is it just me or is everyone in the country paid w/ auto-payroll paid out by ADP? My older brother who works for EA sports, me (i work at panago pizza), My friend alisha (works for a fabric store), my old work ( a call centre), etc.

    Pretty much everyone I know gets a stub by ADP... They must make tons of money, I swear.

    If I were still working helldesk my reply would be something along the lines of "Sorry sir, Dell inc. has advised me I am not able to help you with removal of spyware, and this includes reccomending such programs as AdAware to you."

    Then again, I liked to stir sh*t up, and stuff like this was a common occurance to me (I really wonder how many of my customers tried linux or got off AOL b/c of me)

    I have a couple friends who are sound engineers...

    They go through a 100 spindle of CD's a week, easily. The increased CD tax would seriously hurt their business... This is dumb, I thought canada was smarter than this
