> What scares me is that approximately half the voting public agrees with him [...]
>That's actually not true, for several reasons.
>Firstly, most Americans don't vote, so it's hard to say whether they really agree with him.
He did say half of the VOTING public, not half of the public.
Sure, some Bush supporters disagree with him on some issues - but that doesn't mean that they would necessarly agree OVERALL with his Democrat opponent. I am sure there are issues that some Bush supporters would agree/disagree with on both sides - but it's the overall, lesser of two evils that I think gets the votes. And sure, image is a big part of it.
As an american who dislikes and wishes we would get out of the UN, I say let them(UN/EU) take control the root servers. If things go OK, then there is no problem. If things start screwing up, don't come whining to us. As long as the US part of the internet works, thats OK with me.
Why is Texas providing free internet at taxpayers expense anyway? The truckers can pay for their own porn. They need to concentrate on providing a CLEAN reststop instead. Texas must have some of the worst reststops in the country.
Hey Osama, are all of your replies to any subject about how evil and war mongering (is this a word?) the USA is? Get a life. Yes, I know, the USA has killed trillions of innocent children, blah, blah, blah.
In other words, people on the right - shut up, people on the left want to have a one-sided discussion without anyone bringing up a different viewpoint.
I agree - beginning ~60 years ago with Nazi germany America has gotten involved with too many things. We need to step away and let other people solve their problems by themselves.
I agree - it was OK at the time, but is now kind of cheesy.
When did iPhoto come out? The Ken Burns effect was used in the 1990 The Civil War documentary on PBS. And I am sure in earlier documentaries.
If I can't view your site with IE, I will just move onto somewhere else...
I wouldn't want to pay more taxes just so that someone else can surf for porn. They can do it on their own dollar.

>>"Nicholas Negroponte's $100 free open-source powerd laptop"
So is it free or $100?
Actually "Free" Wi-Fi is only free to some people. Most will pay for it in other ways - taxes.
Since when does anyone in Washington pay attention to the constitution?

Is this true? Are most users running Open Office? Is it 5%?, 10%?, 50%??? It is A standard, but is it THE standard?
In Europe, everything is taxed more.
"Since men aren't natural" Since when? Why is everything living is natural except humans?
"its a browser that people are willing to pay for....profit!??!! " Are you serious?
Lots of kids nowdays couldn't survive without a calculator. They really aren't taught anything but how to pass standardized tests anyway.

"No worries, just keep your browser updated." Thats what they say about IE!
In other words, people on the right - shut up, people on the left want to have a one-sided discussion without anyone bringing up a different viewpoint.
No point in confusing things with facts....

In other words, it's their fault for using
more than the minimal basic features that
open office can emulate.
