$70 for a two-button mouse? That's just as insane as not having a scroll wheel. Considering you can get a Logitech 6-button wireless mouse w/ scroll wheel for ~$28, I don't know why anyone would buy the Apple product.
You're not stuck with one desktop if you're using Windows XP. Go here to download the Virtual Desktop for Windows XP which allows your to manage four desktops.

What? Apple had $213 million in 1Q05 in software sales, and estimates $1 billion in software revenues for this year. And you think Apple doesn't really sell software??
Microsoft just reported their first quarterly profit from their Home and Entertainment unit. They lost money on the XBox in the beginning, but they knew all along that the long term would be profitable. The 'monopoly subsidizes the XBox' argument is now void.
A few people have pointed out that you can set up limited user accounts in XP, and the default user account is admin. Everyone screams and moans 'but how many normal users will set up a limited account?'. Their argument is that 'normal' users don't have the wherewithal or desire to set up a limited account and that Microsoft should do this for them. The problem with that argument is that 'normal' users like that are also the same exact type of users who would simply type in the root password to install the trojan or spyware anyway. If you think someone is too dumb to set up a limited account (which is one of the easiest tasks to do in XP), then why would you give them the benefit of the doubt to not type in their password whenever the window pops up????
After reading some of the comments, I've come to realize that many people apparently use vulgar language and/or ridiculous comments in there code. Am I in the minority when it comes to not doing this? I really don't see the point actually. I don't like to comment anymore than the next guy, but when I do, it's usually there to help me out in the future (even if that's just tomorrow when I come back in to work). I would feel like an idiot reading my own code if it were riddled with comments like 'this fucking sucks!', or 'the front desk girl is so hot and has big tits!'.
After reading this post I decided to bite the bullet and sign up at allofmp3.com. I did a little research on them and they seemed legit as far as not scamming people's credit card info. I attempted to add money to my account using my Visa Platinum but kept getting the message:
"Authorization failed"
Knowing full well that this shouldn't be happening, I decided to call my credit card company. I got an automated system that explained to me my last five charges and the most current was an attempt to charge my card with $5.00. This charge was denied and my account was not charged. I'll call and speak with someone tomorrow, but it seems that my bank (Wachovia) is blocking charges from cyberplat.com (or possibly any Russian based company). I thought it was interesting, and was actually pleased that my credit card denied the charge even though it was a legitimate one.
One of Apple's "flops" that continues to this day is it's Developer support. There's more than one reason why there isn't as much software available for Macs, and poor developers relations is one of them. Sure they have the Developer Connection, but their documentation sucks big time and Xcode isn't even in the same league as Visual Studio.NET. Apple could actually learn a thing or two from the MSDN.
You have completely missed the point of why Microsoft is releasing this spyware removal tool (or any other spyware removal company). Do you really think they are releasing this for service professionals like yourself?? Hell no. They are releasing this so people don't have to go to people like you for help. It is "relatively simple" for you because you are a pro. But for John Avg. Doe, what you just described is both a major pain in the ass as well as way over his head.
This is a crock of shit. CEO's, CFO's, etc. all have to have long-term investment strategies or the board won't even keep them around. It's not all about "right here, right now" in the corporate world. Most of the companies who have had that type of strategy are long gone (i.e. many dot com's).
I recently bought an hp 325 and have been extremely pleased with the results. I specifically bought it because it is only for small format (4x6) digital photography and is very easy to use (a must for the wife). I do most of my printing from Picasa, but my wife likes to just plug the CF card into the printer and scroll through the images on screen.
As far as quality is concerned, the images are very crisp, with nice colors and brightness. Metallic images look great and blacks are very nice. If you're looking for an easy to use, high image quality photo printer, I recommend this line.
This doesn't make much sense to me. Doesn't the Time Warner half want to push hi-bandwidth content through to its AOL subscribers? It's much more difficult to do this via 56k. I really don't know much about the merger other than it's not doing so well. But it seems like the two sides aren't really talking.
"If I were Microsoft, I'd try to buy (or merge) with AMD or Intel, then stop OS support for my competitor, leaving them helpless"
I think that should read "If I were AMD or Intel, I'd try to buy (or merge) with Microsoft..." My point is that AMD or Intel would like to dominate their market completely. Microsoft already does that.
"I like my Windows boxes junkware-free, thanks (oxymoron noted)."
My Windows XP box is junkware free, adware free, and spyware free. It's only an oxymoron for the morons who don't keep their systems safe with firewalls, up-to-date anti-virus definitions, and enough common sense to not click "OK" on every IE prompt that asks you to install something.
BDE errors are terrible to say the least. Here is my favorite: $2E3B : Query makes no sense.

Apparantly the mods think it should be
For one, writing a compiler is much easier when you know that thisLittleThing and ThisLittleThing are different based solely on syntax.

Not quite. McGuyver would need a little duct tape to hold it all together.

Just go to dpreview and get better information without all the annoying page transition "features".
