  1. Blackberries? on During Blackout, Ham Radio Shined · · Score: 1, Interesting

Rose: Oh Jack! Now we can get married and everything you promised! Jack: Yeah about that, I was pretty sure I was going to die uhhh...cause theres this girl in New York and its getting kind of serious. But thanks for letting me draw you naked! I still cant believe you let me do that!

Linux is a kernel, GNU/Linux is an operating environment. There are various processes associated with the operating environment e.g. configuring/installing apps and also the big 'process' security (thanks Bruce Schneier). GNU/Linux is a collection of apps to make an environment, not a process. It is simply a tool to get a job done.

I dont understand why they couldnt have some staffers sitting at a desk for people when they show up. The staffers have a box of cards (rfid tags ?) that have each person in their districts social security number. Person goes to the booth, scans their tag which says to the system, ok, 111-22-3333 is voting. The system should allow them to pick a candidate (or candidates) and then once they are done, invalidate their social number. To prevent against people from using fake socials, the system should be preprogrammed with its districts voters social numbers. Thoughts?

The future of digital media will ultimately be a compromise between the consumers and the industries that create the media in question. Sooner or later (probably later), the RIAA/MPAA will realize that draconian efforts to control media do not work and usually encourage piracy. Second the consumers will eventually learn that SOME acceptable measure has to be put in place to satisfy the CEOs and artists. When and how is up to us and them but certainly NOT Microsoft. Software companies should and will conform to whatever standard the public and industry agrees on.
