I found the rankings of car brands quite interesting. Surprisingly, Toyota came out at the top. I would have thought that Honda and Toyota would share the same place as both are Japanese car manufactures and both make excellent cars.
Toyota = 7 Mercedes = 10 BMW = 15 Honda = 19 Ford = 30 Volkswagen = 56 Audi = 74 Hyundai = 75 Porsche = 80 Nissan = 90 Lexus = 92
A mere 7 watt advantage at the wall despite having started their 65nm transition earlier (AMD waits until they've figured out how to get mature yields before making a rapid switch to the next process node, very unlike Intel) tells me that Intel is going to get leapfrogged big-time in short order.
Intel isn't getting leapfrogged anytime soon, as AMD is a full 1 year behind Intel in the 65nm race. Intel, on the otherhand will be leapfrogging AMD even firther as their 45nm ramp appears to be happening sooner than later http://www.neoseeker.com/news/story/4896/
the results are skewed by the fact that Intel is producing chips using the 65-nanometer process, vs. AMD's 90-nanometer process
Intel is miles ahead of AMD in their process technology. It is not Intel's fault if AMD is still stuck with 90nm technology. As of now, Intel's best chip (woodcrest) is better than AMD's best chip (opteron). Accept it, and stop whining like a baby.
Who knows what will happen in future? AMD may come with a faster chip, and Intel retaliate with even faster chip (Nehalem)
During the course of the past decade Intel invested between $3 billion and $5 billion in the assets it sold to Marvell, says Will Strauss, an analyst for Forward Concepts. Intel spent nearly $2 billion on a single acquisition to bolster those communications chip efforts. It was a major rat hole of unparalleled magnitude.
Also note the max battery life is 120 mins assuming that you are not playing a funky game. The article fails to mention how much the battery lasts if one plays a heavy game without connecting it to the power-supply.
The starting weight is 8.5 lbs. Adding spare battery will only increase its weight. I admit that I have have never gamed on a laptop, but I fail to see its charm. A kickass destop is always better/cheaper/upgradable
You are absolutely right. I have tried meedio in the past and wasnt impressed. I ended up uninstalling it in a couple of days. I finally settled with http://www.team-mediaportal.com/ which is much better in terms of usabilty and features. Also it is opensource
Update #2: Just received an email from Joe Lazarus from Yahoo! Shopping: "Hi Thomas, We appreciate our users alerting us to potential issues. In this particular case, the merchant was investigated by our Customer Care team and was found to be in violation of Yahoo!'s Terms of Service. All listings from this merchant will cease to appear on Yahoo! Shopping within the next 24 hours."
I am eagerly waiting for the day when I would be able to run kde natively on windows. That would be sweet:)
cygwin port of kde is ok but rather slow. http://kde-cygwin.sourceforge.net/
OTA HDTV braodcast is a million times better than cabletv. My favorite channel is PBSHD. Great programming, all in widescreen HD. I love it. I still have cable, because comcast charges the same amount whether you subscribe for just internet or "internet + basic cable"

Intel has lost billions of dollars since late 90s on this. EE-times gives some more details http://www.eetimes.com/news/semi/showArticle.jhtml ?articleID=189602065

My simple fix for the security problems associated with Flash is to not install flash. Let's face it, 99.9% of flash is just obnoxious ads anyway
Even better, just disconnect your computer from the internet. Who needs internet? Let's face it, 99.9% of internet is just obnoxious anyway.
We achieve great results from ordinary people with a brilliant process
calling your employees ordinary is not a very smart way of motivating them.

I installed it on my PC. Now the doctor tells me that it is dying.
1) Word's default font is now Calibri, not Arial. Calibri is a highly readable font.
2)The File menu is gone; now you have to somehow guess that the big icon in the upper left corner is its replacement.
3)The "most recently used" list is no longer limited to the last nine files
4)Track Changes now won't flag as "different" text that is simply moved, which is smart.
5) Ability to export documents to PDF and to their own pdf-like format, whatever that is.
Modular design clarifies architecture and simplifies targeted enhancements. Better X, faster.
Modular design is definitely easier to maintain, but will not necessarily speed up X and reduce latency
This line sums it up ...
The Pentagon's pursuit of network-centric warfare began in the info-tech boom of the 1990s--largely influenced by, of all things, Wal-Mart.
Your behavior is still dictated by the herd if you insist on always walking in exactly the opposite direction from the herd.
Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorist.
running Java on top of your OS is just adding weight and complexity
Could you pass along the crack that you are smoking?
The software sucks

In keeping with "knowing your enemy", I installed IE7, and it crashes consistently every time I open up a new page in a new tab.
It is a microsoft beta software. What else do u expect. Just be happy that it only crashed, instead of killing your family and burning down your house

They will save on bandwidth and ads will be delivered to a wider audience. Everybody wins.
Nuclear regulatory Commission has slipped from a B+ in 2004 to D- in 2005. Is it being managed by Homer?
I think they will be booted soom.
Here is teh update from his blog

s/Ubuntu/Kubutu/g since Mandrake defaulted to KDE.

Seriously, How can they *release* it if it is known to be unstable. Had it been a beta release, it would have made sense.
B====D~ ~ ~ O-: Some one please explain. I am dumb. Is that a big cock in someones mouth?
