    this is only the fifth public release of apache 2.0 in two years, since 2.0 was released. why the slow releases? distros are updated more frequently. just thought it was interesting, only the 5th public release, and thought i'd point that out. i really dont care...just making an observation.

    multimedia plugins...are you refering to netscape
    plugins? thats a seperate issue that doesnt specifically concern redhat. as for the desktop..
    gnome/kde those are also seperate from the distro.
    so i'd stay with what youre currently using. why
    switch?

    I'm glad to hear that the new install is better. But...personally I just stay up to date with rpms and stable kernel releases so a new version is really irrelevant to me...unless of course I need to install/setup a new machine, and then I'll just wait for the official release :) I'm just thinking out loud here. I would like to see the new install.
