your not a true/.er if you dont like discussing science fiction even if its just a book review. Why complain about what is news and what isnt, sit back and enjoy something once in a while.
BTW I will be makin a trip up to my fav. book store to get MFiaB..I dont have it yet...thanks for reminding me everyone. We need more book reviews so I know what I am missing out on!!hahaha
I'm pretty sure there would be a way to turn the camera on when you want it on to save battery space...then again if they make people start wearing a chunky battery pack just to recharge the battery after every 3 minute phone call then I say forget it...
so with auto answer on your phone it would pick up and whom ever is on the other end can see what your doing...say the phone was on the night stand when yer a bit busy with sex or in the bathroom with ya on the John...ewwww...no thanks... what if it has auto call back..unnghh...
Hey heres a thought...are they going to make cameras that go through your retinas so the voices in your head have sight too? (refering to the last cell phone article about inserting a cell phone device in teeth)
"AHHH!! they have our link...they musnt give it out..no one must know about us...what will we do, oh i know we can put up a warning to them so they ask us to post our link, yeh thats it...."
I wonder what they will do if they are bombarded with/.ers that dont "ask" to post their link. Hunt each and everyone down and make them say sorry? Bwahahahaha
hmmm...I'm curious, in what way does this make sense to you? This is from the second page of the article on salon.com
"The industry-advocate coalition won a key victory in August 2000. The U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington blocked four of the six changes the FBI sought and the FCC had ordered, sending them back to the FCC with instructions to better explain why the changes were necessary and how they would balance the needs of law enforcement, the public's right to privacy, and industry's right to a cost-effective way to enforce the law. The FBI took no further action for over a year, and it seemed possible the agency would admit defeat and let the issue die."
then they go to quote much later on: " We're essentially under siege," Berman said, ticking off issues that had recently come up: the new Homeland Defense Department, new FBI data-mining rules, the Patriot Act. "Would we be challenging this if it were September 10th? Absolutely. The problem is priorities and resources, but don't count us out yet."
I see that Americans are now making everything they do in the excuse of "the September 11th incident"....okay that may have been a huge wake up call to us telling us how slack we have become thinking we are secure in our defense system, to only realize we cant handle the issues within America itself.
"Would we be challenging this if it were September 10th? Absolutely. The problem is priorities and resources, but don't count us out yet."
To Berman, no i dont believe if you've shut your mouth after being asked "what do you exactly plan to do", that you are actually going to do it before something like September 11th (dare to say, hope it doesnt) ever happens again. Precautions are a bit late dont you think...but its an awefully nice gesture...even though he is right in that priorities are the main issue here..unfortunately it is too often that American priorities are on other countries instead of on their own affairs...after all they should be trying to answer the question on how they are to make this a "cost effective way to enforce the law" arent they?
just one persons opinion i guess....pretty much same ol' shit just a different day...
are you serious? next your gonna ask if they are gonna dig Nixon up for a retry....come on!! history is history...and its important to know and study so we dont screw up again in the future...uncovering facts no matter how long it takes or how modern of technology we have to use is nessacary to "get the story straight" as to say..you dont want to have to explain anything in detail without knowing all the facts would you? so yea, uncovering this information is actually very important...
besides who knows whats missing on that tape..could be some really good stuff to gossip about for the next 30 years....
I agree, but you have to figure why you need the extra security...
if at a company for a server room or such, yes i can see the point in having cameras, a detection alarm and more than one lock on the door..possibly a security coded lock where only a select few know the code. And for seperate computers within the computer should all have some sort of software that allows the company to "checkup" on employees..employees are the main ones to blame for stealing from a company because they know their way around not because they are sophisticated enough...of course employees that try to break into a server room for any reason might be the "movie watching" type and think that they can get past laser detection with smoke and mirrors, break the camera(s) in that room and around it, or something dumb that will backfire in thier face.
In your home however I'm hoping such drastic measures arent needed, but thats not saying it wouldnt be nessacary, depends on how much you trust people in your house using your things or how well you lock up your house when your not there. Then again it depends on how much you want to spend on the amount of security and how much you'd feel is needed.
yes i've seen DDR...and there is movement ofcourse..i was generalizing the fact that its a video game, instead of a teacher taking time to teach a course they are placing students infront of a game. now thats lazy too. so in response i appologize for generalizing DDR into a "sitting event"...any idiot knows its not...
what ever happened to installing a tv and gaming system across from the toilet? those were the good ol' days where you could beat 4 levels of mario bro.s/duck hunt while spending quality time on the throne...then again you've got idiots that would try to play games or somethin in the bath tub (those that take baths instead of showers) and zap themselves to death....dont incourage them.
*claps with standing ovation* guess it goes to show that capital punishment isnt dead after all....mmm bars on windows, fire exits you cant exit, wasted lives inside the building...i say keep the cafes illegal or not, it keeps the ones that refuse to have a real life off the streets.
"Professor Boyd referred to the thymus as the fountain of youth."
So does this mean that within a few more studies of stem cell research we can make ourselves immortal? If theres a way we cant get sick and everything by enhancing stem cells and cloning them..then isnt there a way we can use stem cells to slow down the aging process or something like that.....
gimme some of that Thymus magical juice...bottoms up!! Ahhhh.....Thymus the immortal maker! (cheesy smile and hearty laugh...knowing i'm not going to get paid for advertising somethin that wont exist....or will it?)
people just didnt give so much of a shit about copying cd's when no matter if the over priced CD is bought from the store or if its copied for personal use from a friend or the internet. Either way its advertising the band(s) and its getting the music out into the social masses (so to say). Now instead of crying over -boohoo- they copied our music and we want money, it should be set up that companies that work in the music industry just put their music online for people to download..gee what a unique concept *cough cough*...instead of whining that people who created Napster or Audiogalaxy took the perfect idea to "share" music instead of ripping of people's wallets making them purchase a CD where theres only one or two good or well known songs on it! its a waste of time and money...why cant these dumb entertainment companies just get the clue, they cant control the consumer..one way or another we arent going to pay for an over priced CD unless we absolutely desire to...
i leave it at that....
just one persons opinion...after all...

If Dance Dance is taught in Gym..then Dungeon Seige should be in History class and Quake should be in every armed forces camp we have...how does playing a game vs. actually learning something first hand compare to be any better..? lets see..hand eye coordination and sittin infront of a video game that you can play at home vs. going to school and gettin off yer ass to do some actual work. hmmmmm.
Touche, lets give an old "earth to clueless entertainment company"...they just dont realize that most people copy CDs or DVDs to keep the origional thats in their possession in tact. See, the copies can be scratched and everthing and noone would care but if the origional was scratched or (by drastic means) broken in half...what then, fork over more money to those theives of companies....I say they lower CD prices to DVDs...there are more on DVD's than CD's anyway, so why keep prices up? there is always audiogalaxy if i really desperately want the music and i have blank CDs to burn to...
