Sure they look fine, but they don't support the 96 kHz audio sampling rate. By sticking with DVDs, you're missing out on a vast spectrum of inaudible sound.
all the awesomeness of unix without the headaches.
I've been using OS X for a couple of months now and it just seems to me like Unix with an entirely different and unfamiliar set of headaches.
Macports eventually gets the job done most of the time and has about 1/4th of the packages that the debian apt repositories. Call me when your OS grows up.
I'm a linux user (debian) who has recently been using OS X. What I've found is that while it does have basic functionality out of the box, getting anything more has been a pain in the ass. Although macports and fink do help, they're nowhere near as useful as the debian apt repositories. Aside from that, I find myself searching google when I need one of the many applications that is missing from the package repos. Generally I find what I'm looking about half of the time and kill 5-10 minutes in the process.
So yes, OS X has basic functionality out of the box, but it's a long way from competing with Linux.
Maybe the talented coders just don't like Java. It's entirely possibly that a shortage of tomcat coders will correspond to a surplus of rails developers.
Most likely they'll call it the "Java SQL Environment", or JSE for those seeking more acronym certifications.
did you have hunt the wumpus?
You've never used java before, have you?
Sorry, it doesn't compile. I'm going to have to mod you down for that.
Well, you know Java. That's pretty low level. It doesn't even support the functional paradigm (one of the oldest in computer science).

Linux runs at blazing speeds on apple hardware, OS X doesn't.

linux has apt, apple doesn't;
Space is big, but it's mostly zeroes, thus easily compressed.
Step 1) Play Guitar Hero
Step 2) ???
Step 3) Profit!

That's what people said about XP.
Oddly enough, I've written a song using a similar method. It's meant to be seen more than heard.
Nope, salesman.
This is only a problem if they accidentally leave the bar code scanner in the patient.
So the choice is between having a non-functional OS or a non-functional drive?
Honestly, if there's any industry that's crippled by this, it's the surfing industry. Unfortunately, they can't afford very good lobbyists.
For a real challenge, try to think of a scifi show that is worse than firefly. All I'm coming up with is the current bionic woman series.
Most people here can't even afford a congressman, yet you have congressmen? ESR, is that you?
There's nothing in the GPL saying you can't directly make money from software.
Google trends seems to agree with this theory
