OK, I'm not here to advertise for KDE, and I am in no way affiliated with KDE. With that said, I love KDE 3.1
KDE 3 was nice, but it still lacked some things. With 3.1, I feel like I'm in a clean, visually appealing, fast(yes fast in X) desktop environment. Some people say that the visual appearance of a desktop environment is not important, but considering that I have to look at it for at least 1/2 of my day, I'd prefer it looked inviting. I'd like to hear what other people have to say about this or Gnome.
A government of the United States that is truly FOR the people, and that has reformed its totalitarian, greedy, beaurocratic ways. A government that has perhaps severed its ties with greedy lobbyists, realized that some of the laws it has passed are unconstitutional and repealed them. BTW: I also want a pony...
I'm not quite sure how all of these codecs compare to Ogg but from my experience with it, I found it to be quite good. It was about 1/3 smaller than MP3's and the same quality. (At least as far as I could tell) I just wish the P2P community would trade more music as ogg's.
Recently, I did a research report on the threat of global warming to the Earth. After digging very deep into the issue, and studying all the data, I've come a conclusion that many scientists share. Global Warming is normal. It is a standard part of the Earth's temperature fluctuation. Granted, we have increased levels of greenhouse gases, and helped to prolong this period of warming. This is not necessarily bad. The small amount by which we have increased the global average temperature, is not the end of the world that the ignorant media portrays. The end of the world will be when the next ice age, or glacial period hits. This could happen within the next 100 years. What may save us from this fate, are our "atmosphere damaging" gases. (Of course, I'm not saying pollution is a good thing, I'm purely talking about the warming effect of these gases.)
Thanks from the Reuters dude. I like to get a lot of my news from there or the AP wire. You have a very good point about the news stations buying their news and editing it too.
Frankly, I don't trust most of the standard news stations or papers. Most have alterior motives, if they're not just plain ignorant. btw.. I also have a theory that the entire country is controlled by 2 companies that battle for the top position. See below...
To guard against falling trees, rotting, storms.. etc.. use lots of padding. Develop the entire house with padding, and then when it falls, you'll just have a minor brain trauma from bouncing around inside.
As brought up by a few others, I'd be interested to see what it's charging times are, along with it's ability to engage multiple targets. Would make a big difference if ever used as a counter-SAM system on smaller planes.
But... to reply to ur obviously unintelligent remark, I doubt we would use a giant laser against individuals, or buildings. Also, this so-called "OIL war" is such BS. Obviously if we overthrow Saddam, we aren't going to take control of his oil, you know how bad that would look to the rest of the world??? We'll most likely just give control over to the new Iraqi government which we will trade with.
As was previously mentioned, this is from the linux-kernel mailing list. I would also like to add a humorous phrase that Linus used on that list. "Engineering-masturbation"
I'm a Junior in High School right now, and an avid "geek". I don't particularly see the problem of unpopularity though. I have a small group of very good friends, some popular, some not, but all somewhat nerdy. I actually prefer to be unpopular. I would hate to be a popular moron, that's going to be a useless member of society, once let out out of high school. I think my Biology teacher put it best once, when talking about a certain low-level popular class, he described them as "The future workforce of Target". =)
Dear 31337 h4X0r ,

That's why you don't buy anything like that until you've done extensive research, and it's been on the market for awhile.
Otherwise you end up like these people and get stuck saying, "What porn? I didn't order any porn honey..." (mumbling)"GOD DAMN FILTER!"

Hm.. ok.. another day, another Microsoft security hole. I wonder if even half of all Windows users use Windows Update. =P

Just don't go over your RIAA-set limit of 600 songs a day... =) Especially you Verizon ISP customers.
We're getting articles from CNN now??

As Intel is in no hurry to make the jump to 64-bit desktops...
Well yea, have you SEEN Intel's attempt at 64 bits?
Yea.. I apologize, I meant ulterior.

Ok, why do we need 300 people to reply with a one line message saying 'dupe'.

Ya gotta love the guy!
I prefer to use Beer. I find that it compiles much nicer, and it's cheaper too. =)
I wonder if AOL or Wired received any communication like so...

I'm linin' up all those damn spyware companies... What to sue them for... I'm not exactly sure...
It's CRACKER not HACKER if anyone would read the headline. God, even on slashdot...I wonder how hackers get the bad name...
