Of course the AK-47 should be patented. It's the arguably the most recognizable weapon in the world. The technology is irrelevant: to credit the poster it is very well known now and nothing particularly ground-breaking, but we're talking about more of a 'brand' issue here. For better or for worse (and I'm thinking worse), the AK-47 is absolutely ubiquitous with almost every non-Western (from ex-USSR to Somalia to Iraq to Afghanistan) armed force. This is more of a trademark issue, and perhaps that's not quite what the OP was talking about. Just like the VW Beetle and the iPod, the AK-47 is one of the most recognizable symbols in the world.
That said, the Russians probably have about as much chance of getting royalties for the AK-47 as the Cuban government does for every Che Guevara shirt in the world. But imagine if they did... every Cuban would have a Corvette (well, as long as Fidel was happy with that, but that's another story).
Netscape is bloated AOL-ware. I'd select IE as my default, then download Firefox (OK maybe not IE as my default but I'd certainly get Firefox, and most probably uninstall Netscape).
It's usually about 5 during the week, 10 on weekends. From what I've been reading on/., and from other people I know, that's fairly mild - also this is for Hotmail too remember - arguarbly the most targeted domain for spammers (or possibly AOL).
If Hotmail accounts are targeted randomly, the amount of spam you get is probably related to the complexity of your username.
I've had my Hotmail account for nearly three years, and I typically get about 5-10 spam messages per day - not a lot. I have custom filters that catch all emails with "mortgage, viagra, debt" - this catches most of the spam I get (I actually don't filter porn spam, well I haven't really tried, as at least they are creative with their subject lines - "Knob Gobblers" was a favourite - I've had some other funny ones too)
My username is 11 characters long with an underscore - this is probably a bit out of range for your typical "brute force"/random sign up name spammers.
So - if you want to use popular free email services, perhaps follow the same guidelines for creating secure passwords? Numbers, special characters,(although this is a bit more limited with email) and more importantly length of name!
It is a parody - this is fairly easy to assume after the Slashdot write up and some of the text on the site. But it really isn't a particuarly "good" parody - but I haven't seen their articles yet. It was listed as humour, but I didn't find anything on there funny to be honest.
It needs more tongue in cheek humour, biggest joysticks with bigger crosses through them etc.; the best thing about these sites is people that would support MAVAV are so blind to parody and irony that they wouldn't notice the piss was being taken, where as more intelligent/open minded people would get it... and laugh their ass off.
after downsizing in november, we get to help move offices on the saturday before christmas! and of course, for no reward or financial incentive or compensation.
i should clarify that "we" is the company, and not "i", as "i" will be at home NOT moving, i've given my company more than enough, including behind laid off once and re-employed a month later...
I have met heard of someone who likes Mad Mad 3. I guess there's just not enough Tina Turner to go around...

Not sure if anyone has heard of the SMURFO project, but the DoD commissioned it a few years ago, and it's been research by the cream of the University of Arkansas.
Agreed. i think AI would have been amazing if Kubrick had finished - instead of Spielberg trying pathetically to "clone" Kubrick's style.
Nonetheless, let's not forget Empire of the Sun (one of my all time favourite films) and, of course, Indiana Jones (even though it was George Lucas's idea).

Opened last week. Is a great film, but of course more of the series would've been better.
Wasn't this about how handsome he was, how smart he is and most noteable how charming he looks with his Java ring?
as opposed to the al-qaeda member with the CD burner and a pirate copy of windows XP...

Perhaps we need a new saying:
"If someone makes a blog entry, does anyone really care?"

Not for perverts?
With an X10 and a mini RC car (both bought via spam), you should see up the ladies' skirts!!
Then, you could place the images on a website, and spam people with the address!
Oooh, like a bit of Celine Dion do we?
Playing any Celine Dion mp3 on any platform will cause pain.

But unfortunately they don't have big pictures of big spaceships - and let's face it, that's what the nerds want.
