  4. actually on Douglas Adams Written Dr. Who Episode Goes Into Production · · Score: 2, Informative

The footage of Tom Baker in "The Five Doctors" was from Shada, as he pulled out at the last minute, and they had to do a bit of a re-write at the last minute - hence the story seems a bit odd. I really hope this one isn't like the last Dr Who they made - that sucked.

if they developed such a weapon, would it be as potent during day as during night?

for instance, my laser pointer can shine around 200 metres at night, but only 5-10 metres during the day.

based on that observation, this might only have a limited effect during the day?

if so, perhaps Osama will move up to lapland for that extreme lack of night ;)

  15. web accessibility on ADA Doesn't Apply to Web · · Score: 0

Anyone who has tried to implement W3C accessibility will now how much of a hassle this process is. Tables in particular: http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG10-HTML-TECHS/#identifyin g-table-rows-columns

Oh, by the way, I love how W3C's examples are NOT XHTML compliant.

Anyway... I personally think that accessibility is another drag factor on web development, up there with users of Netscape 4.x (and worse) and etc. (I'm not opposed to different browsers, just shitty ones).

If the web is going to be accessible, I think all the effort should go into reader software. This has to evolve and deal with the current state of the web, rather than the web devolve to fit in with it. I mean sure - there are things that developers should do to increase accessibility (alt tags etc.), but there has to be a line drawn.

C'mon... you guys are like the Spanish Inquisition with news articles. It seems as long as it's been published on a server it MUST be reliable - there seems to be no attempt to even find out if its reputable.
