This is too much fun!
Can I be the first to register olds.mobile?
hupp.mobile?
auto.mobile?
alexander.calder.mobile.hangs.in.a.museum??
semi.mobile?
quasi.mobile.rang.notre.dame.bells?
Can the.matic domain be far behind?
I know this is a difficult topic, but...Can't we just let CIFS to die, already?Alright, barring that, this really is a useful book. I wish I hadn't already learned it in the usual too-much-caffeine-for-rational-thought method.
The long months in the wilderness are at an end, brethren! And on the day I finished re-viewing the last of the DVD extras for the umpteenth time!
This is great news. Note that it is Universal now, not Fox, so there really could be another series at the end of the trail here.
Since the DVD set came out, I have introduced the series to a dozen 'Fly newbies, all of whom are as swept away as I was. It's just too fanastic a program to let it go, and no maybe (just maybe?) we won't have to.
I had no idea!
I'm Thrilled!
This means that one of my favorite stories will feature one of my favorite Televsion personalities! Bill Nighy the Science Guy will be in HHGTG!
The point of my original post was that in the US, Bluetooth has never caught the imagination of the buying public. When I am in the UK, I use bluetooth because it is comparatively ubiquitous. Not so in the States.
However you slice it, that means an opportunity for something similar to become more widely accepted in the Americas.
And what part of YOUR country's constitution includes "The right to make phone calls shall not be abridged"? I have the right to decide who can transmit FROM my house, even without control over who can transmit TO it.
Actually, that would be a RACE: A Redundant Array of Cards, Expensive. Since Johnny Cochran already patented the term, industry insiders are banking on the name MEMORY. That's a Massively Expensive Matrix Of Redundant Yottabytes.
Is there no way to daisy chain some broadband out to the woods? Are you so far from a friendly neighbor (even a string of them) that you can't get a point-to-point wireless going?
Using CHEAP antenna's you can go ten miles (or much more) line of sight, and with Power-over-ethernet, those cheapies can be on top of a severely tall mast...
If that still isn't enough, better antennas cost more but go farther, and once you've bought them, they're yours.
This just in! Microsoft has obtained an injunction against the US. A court in Finland has ordered the United States Government to cease the publication of the Declaration of Independence.
Apparently, the original text uses the phrase "All men are endowed by their Creator...", and the word "endowed" sounds a lot like part of Windows.
It is expected lawyers will seek injunctive relief against the makers of "No-Doze" as soon as they can figure out who makes that stuff.
The "mini-series" was clearly intended as a pilot. The question is, will anyone pony up the production money to actually make one.
I was disappointed that the show was only 4 hours total, but at least they did a pretty good job of telling the story in that time.
There would clearly be some good story development opportunities that vary from the usual Star-Trek 'explore and discover' scenario. The idea of a struggle against extinction has some powerful angles. Sort of a cross between Lost in Space and the Terminator.
First, file sharing is not stealing, according to the US Supreme Court. It is copyright infringement, which is a different crime. Nobody is hijacking truckloads of CD's here. Get it right.
Second, This seems to be a case of making the Crime fit the Punishment. People who committed no crime at all are just as likely to be punished by the irresponsible and confiscatory actions of the RIAA as those who do. The industry's remedy for this seems to be to declare them crimainals anyway.

Shiny!
No Kidding!
I would gladly pay 100 times as much, and I never even USE this stuff!
I'm Thrilled!

Wow. What's that? Nye? Not Nighy?

Everybody knows what it means (or what they think it means) and how to use it.
Even if this WAS just Bluetooth with a new name, it would become the odds-on favorite to replace Bluetooth.
If Bluetooth had the kind of mindshare that USB does, there would be little room for a replacement.
It doesn't. there is.
For real results, you have only to look at Monster India.
Many jobs I am finding. Yes, good jobs, imported jobs, yes indeed.
Would you like a side of Tech Support with that software?
Pshaw! next you'll try to tell us that not all reality television is real, or that pro Wrestling isn't a sport.
Most of everything is not the Best of anything. Get a clue. It's reading the rest that makes the best such a treasure.
And lay off Piers Anthony. He ain't Heinlein or Asimov, but neither is William Gibson. Nobody is. That's why Heinlein and Asimov are important.
With that in mind, I hope these bastards at Infernalium.com are blessed with an army of dyslexic sycophantic PR flaks.

I just took a look at the MS $ource, and then looked through some of my old files just to be sure. It's True!
Those Bat Rastards! they stole my code! Hey, Daryl! Know of a good lawyer???
hmmm.... Registered Trademark Pending?

The unisex aspect of the military was cute.

I just checked: there is still time to grab fa.la.la.la.la and falalalalalala.la
