This is really good news to Java. The open source community always needed a high level language as strong as Java. In the other side, Java always needed a market share as growing as OSS.
Java done a lot of thing on the middleware level, now is time of desktop level.
As a Brazilian I must reply, I don't see Santos-Dumont as the first to fly on a airplane.
For many years I belivied that the Wright was the firt one, now I agree with this New Zealand aviator.
The true value of Santos-Dumont is as the "father" of aviation. While the Wright brothers was concerned with the proofit of their invention, Santos-Dumont wanted to make all humanity to use his airplane.
If the Wright Brothers was the only to build a airplane, their's patents would delay the world's progress on aviation for centurys.
"Empire had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All Jedi had was a bunch of Muppets."
With this system you can use any Filesystem Hierarchy you want and still having POSIX compliance.
Although I think the Filesystem Hierarchy Standard is the very usefull for power users (short directory names, each file in its places) it's unreadable for desktop users.
Theories like sabotage? Think for a while, if Brazil was succed in launch a rocket it will become the only country in south america to do so.
The technology used on a space rocket is the same used in a long range missile. I can think several country who doesn't want Brazil with long range missile.
This is a fact: the exact date of this launch was secret because the gov fears sabotage.
GNOME 2.4 was not released yet, so there is no way to tell how it will looks alike, the developers are promissing something new, perhaps based on theses screenshots
Here is the link for the voting simulator for this year election.
It's quite easy, on the bottom of the screen will appear the numbers of the candidates.
A single CD is really a achievement, but is too much to ask for screenshots???

This is not fair, they get payed to post anonymously and all I got posting with my sign is bad karma.
That's why I use JONAS and soon Geronimo.
It will be the first time I ever saw this.
Blind people can be useful in other wat than the criminal, there is a plenty of example out there.

It looks a good idea, this with storage FS can bring Linux to the Home Desktop.

Open source is someway safer for this.

How could the IBM engineers miss it.
To stay on topic, Eclipse is very usable if you have enough RAM and CPU power.
On the company where I work we use Eclipse running on Pentium IV 2.4 with 1 Gb RAM, six developers can use it thought LTSP.
It's simple, just type the candidate's number (in the bottom) in the machine and hit the green light.
The orange button corrects a error and the white button cast a vote for none of the candidates. A wrong number will invalidate your voting.
I always use Jupiter's satellites to name my servers and I was getting out of options.
I don't know in what I can believe anymore. But it would be nice.

It's easy to do a FilePicker exactly equals to a MS one, what is hard a new concept to be used on every upgrade of GNOME.
The GNOME community is working hard to make a good replacement to his original file selector, as you can see here.
Look at what you shouldn't do, it is funnier.

Five!!
At least 8 years to another team catch us, but I don't think this will happen so soon.
