Well, cmon.. HL2 will be god ;) But Halo PC will still have a damn huge following. The new MP maps and hopefully mods will entice the Xbox owners who are getting bored with the same old maps.

Cmon, I say the same thing about the GC controller ;) I guess whatever you repetetively get used to obviously feels the best but I actually prefer the Ctrl-S (NOT!! the pumpkin) to the other console's. Not a flame or anything but the GC's overall feel and weight seemed lighter/cheaper than the X. And I abhor the PS2's shoulder buttons, I'll take the tight spring analog triggers any day.

Maybe I'll change my mind about the GC when I get one in a few months and it melds to my hand while playing Zelda ;)

  7. I didn't know either on Academy Awards Of Halo Videos · · Score: 2, Interesting

I actually went a few months with my new Xbox avoiding Halo because it seemed overhyped. I am extremely critical of games and very few earn my own personal hall of fame awards, but from the moment I put Halo in my Xbox I've been trying to figure out why it has such a massive appeal to me. I think either Bungie signed a deal with the devil, or all the planets aligned to coincide with it's release.

I know that I'll be playing Halo for many more years (well MP that is) and I can only say that for a small handful of games.

I think when it comes down to it, Halo's biggest success is the Warthog's physics. I'd hate to imagine Halo without it's #1 star (yes Master Chief you come second to a vehicle)

As far as the Machinima goes, RvB is awesome for Halo freaks like myself as well as my non-Halo friends - amateur yes but still loaded with charm.

  13. Question? on Half-Life 2 Not On Xbox? · · Score: 1

Ask yourself why the Console market is thriving in comparison to the more niche PC gaming market. You can argue against it all you want but you're on a slowly sinking ship. It'll never go away obviously (and I sure hope it doesn't) but PC gaming doesn't have a chance against consoles.

As for the rest of your post, everything is pure speculation unless you really are on the Xbox dev team.

Hey, people still use the Mac ;) And it *is* better at graphics apps.

Hey, it's just an opinion - no need to twist your panties up like that, last time I checked we were all entitled to one, correct? Only difference is that I don't stoop to name calling, but I forgive your ignorance :)

I have your system down to the spec, I try almost every new game to come out, and aside from ET I've barely found anything recent that's not a lame FPS or RTS. That's not me ranting against the PC, I love it and I wish I enjoyed the more recent titles. I have more fun loading up classics like SS2 and DX, or DOTT and GrimF.

That being said, I think the Xbox is much more fun and enjoyable - there's no denying some of the games are junky PS2 ports, but there's a lot that are extrememly great. And even if the cycle is heading towards the PC end and the Xbox is becoming more dated, the Xbox 2 will come and the cycle will restart, making the 9700 look silly. Get it?

  15. Not true on Half-Life 2 Not On Xbox? · · Score: 0, Troll

I'm constantly suprised at how great my Xbox console looks compared to my much technically superior PC. Other than Enemy Territory, my "Superior" machine is generating dust and is generally nowhere near as fun. Do you have any recommendations for killer games for the PC that can actually justify an insane hardware upgrade cycle? (Not future titles, current ones) And I don't care for RTS or uninspired FPS's either.

Of course the better resolution and key/mouse is an advantage, but in heated matches of RTCW on both systems, resolution doesn't become much of an issue anymore (it would if my TV were the same size as my monitor, but that's not the case).

And as far as the key/mouse is concerned - yes, there's no denying that it's insanely better. But I'm so used to console shooters it feels great playing that way as well, and you know everyone else is "handicapped" by the gamepad so it evens out the playing field and you can become just as skilled as if you were using keyb/mouse.

Anyway, off on a rant. To sum it up, PC=Good, Xbox=Better.

When I was 12 I lusted after the Turbo Express handheld TG-16, which I believe was the first handheld with equivalant power of the home console. It was insanely priced (around $300 back then) and with my Paperboy budget is was waaaay out of reach.

I remember those good old days, with the TG16 and Genesis out before the Super Nintendo, the console wars back then were impressive and sadly the TG-16 couldn't handle competition from Sega and Nintendo.

Remember Splatterhouse? Next to Bonk that was one of the games I couldn't wait to get my hands on. Even though I've played the the TG-16 on my Xbox thanks to Hugo, it's just not the same. Ask most hardcore gamers about the TG-16 and they get a fond glint in their eye, ask everyone else and get a blank stare.

This sounds like a great idea! Not too long ago, me and my friends were talking about how we should set up a paintball match instead of getting together for the usual Halo night we have every month or so. Going back to the basics and actually playing CTF in a real environment, with real pain would really make you play harder and smarter. Back in the day we used to frequent some nice outdoor arenas as well as some close quarter indoor events.

I think it's pure brilliance to have CS maps translated to real life, especially if the people playing are CS jockies. Knowing a map/arena before you play could definitely have some nice advantages.

Of course, now me and about half of my friends have office jobs and we are a little out of shape so it could be a little more challenging..

Here's hoping that my wish will come true some day, real CTF with my friends and some ATVs in a simulated Blood Gulch level. Drool...

At this point in the game Alice has no qualms about resorting to such means, be they medicaments, poisons or other weapons. Resolutely, she does her best to ensure that her side emerges successfully from the perilous operations engaged in and to this end ruthlessly injects poison into the enemies the techno-elite have sent her out to overcome..

So little "Alice" is learning that the end truly does justify the means, no matter how many ethical boundaries she has to detroy in her mind, all in the name of success?

Is she also pre-programmed to think that these enemies she is fighting are inherently evil and thus must be vanquished? Has she given up free will and just accepted that fact that she is the "good one" and all others who are different must die?

I really doubt that this article was legitimate and nothing more than a clever marketing ploy to draw more people into the game. Wouldn't it have been more believable to have a "son named Jack" who is a reclusive teenager with poor social skills, and is so addicted to MMORPG's that he only has a shower once a week?

That being said, I think MMORPG's are the devil and I'm avoiding them like SARS. Especially with that violent little "Alice" out there... -shudder-
