Interesting...usually when a business restructures itself it does it to acuire more business. And not to stop providing services. What's driving this change? Move into media, providing digital content?
Well sure, they've got Mandrake on board. What about Redhad?
Also, to my knowledge they only apply to rpm based distros. What about Slackware and Debian? I could be wrong about all this. But if I didn't. The SLB isn't strict enought.
First Amd beat Intel in 64 bit, then they beat Intel in performance, they they got them with value (performance and price) and now they are making faster chips then Intel. Will that become a trend for the next few years?
Good on people for taking action however, what are their chances of suceeding???
I mean, Microsoft was been in lawsuits for years. Against other big companies and they managed quite well. So, what are the changes that a few unsatisfied people will win against a huge company which with out a doubt emplays permenant lawyers?
I agree with people who say that Neopets is bad for kids. It teaches kids how to play and bet, with virtual maney. Start young...and halp the kids develop into gamblers...
That's always Microsofts defence... I had a fresh install of Windows (no 3rd party software what so ever) crash on me. Likewise with Office (Windows + Office, nothing else). Now, unless Windows and Office contain 3rd party code, that claim is bull. And now they blame the security holes on 3rd party. They need to take some responsibility for their mistakes.
Will technologies merge? It seems to me that everything is doing everything. Mobile phone - organiser, notebook - mobile phone, tv - dvd player. Are we going towards having just a handfull of devices that are capable of doing many related thing.
Amds most of the time are not equivalent to Intel as far as numbers are concerned. Higher Amd is usually compared to an Intel, for example Athlon 3200+ is equivalent to Pentium 4 3000 and not the P4 3200. It falls short from the P4 3200 ghz performance.
I don't see how that fill succeed. I mean Trusted Computing is a quick fix to a problem with no real solution. There are ways to crack/bypass trusted computing, what then? This will only work for so long.
Suing customers doesn't change much. How many cds worth would you buy over say 5 years? Now, when you get sued you might not buy any cds but, for how long will that last? By that time the RIAA got payd for that in a lump sum from the lawsuit payout.
Shrinking Oxone hole...Being environmentally friendly is expencive, which brings me to my question...How long will this last? They invent more environmentally friendly for us but when will the companies get the picture?

May I ask, what has Linux Standard Base achieved?

It's a shame really, I had high hopes for them.
Linux needs more strics standards...

Ahh, i see. I bet anything that it's got something to do with their drm. Online content will be distributed and license to people bates on their Ip
Yes, as if. If it's anonymous then how can you receive your "free"/"dicounted" software?
And even if it was legit...My business is my business. I don't like people looking over my shoulder.
ATM's are running WIndows CE? I thought that some companies as security concious as banks would run something more stable and secure.
It all makes sance now. I have seen a few ATM's crash, that screen looked very familiar. Now i know why.
Linux is cheaper, i really don't think there's any more to it.

Could this be just a waste of time?
Looks like Redhat is loosing their doninance in the linux world...
Can laser on your retinas be good for your eyes?

Very nice...Intel had some serious competition. Im interested to see how they will respond.
What's that the power Consumtion vs. Performance difference between Amds and Intels equivalent?
Could Amd become the chouce of server administrators?
I can just he the healines on hacking sites:
HowTo: Hacking your IBM
Or warez headline:
IBM ____ Crack By ___

If you have both, solar panels and a wind turbine. That would cover the caps a bit more thus you shouldn't need as many batteries, should you?
At the very least, the power company would output less thus producing less pollution.
Wow. That's enough to power a small town. How much noise would a thing like that make?
How big would a Wind Turbine have to be to power a house? Some people already have solar panels on their roofs, why not a small Wind Turbine?
I wouldn't say that, there's still plenty of way that "Microsquish" can get ahead of Linux.
Maybe we won't all die in a flood...
