America was founded so men could freely worship God without restriction by the state. And, yes, God is good and not evil. Things continue because He is incredibly merciful and gives us time to turn to Him. Secondly, He has a day appointed to balance the books -
Benjamin Franklin: | Portrait of Ben Franklin
" God governs in the affairs of man. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? We have been assured in the Sacred Writings that except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it. I firmly believe this. I also believe that, without His concurring aid, we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel" -Constitutional Convention of 1787 | original manuscript of this speech
"In the beginning of the contest with Britain, when we were sensible of danger, we had daily prayers in this room for Divine protection. Our prayers, Sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered... do we imagine we no longer need His assistance?" [Constitutional Convention, Thursday June 28, 1787]
Well, forget me. God isn't condemming anybody. He just paid your debt for you, is all.
And our founding fathers actually had to ask for His help to finish the constitution.
I guess if you were around then, you could have set them straight.
I am not shoving my standards on anyone. I am saying that those things are not a requirment of civilized discourse.
And, yes, I suggest that you remember Who it is that gives you the freedom you enjoy. It is someone bigger than we are.
A game of any kind ought to be harmless fun, but we've reached a point
where everything has to be allowed.
There is no need for entertainment to use foul language or blood and gore
just for the sake of it.
Same goes for using the name of God or Jesus or lewdness.
This is not escape from realisim, just more of the same.
A microbe that survives because of improper doseage is not evolution,
but a poor understanding of how to deal with disease.
All disease can be cured, but we do not yet have the knowledge to do so,
so to say that is evolution is an extension of our ignorance.
You would think that someone, somewhere would understand that we the people need something
we can call our own, without the government having to extract a tax on it.
Please, just let us imagine we can surf without revenue. We already pay dearly.
It is interesting that 120 scientists, greatly concerned about these issues
would roll over and play dead.
Is there not one person willing to let go of position, money or carrear for what he believes in?
A game is supposed to be fun, and yes, an escape from reality, but I see no need
to portray sex or out and out murder, even in a game.
This is not pushing the limits, it is trying to see how stupid a game maker can be.
Keep it up, and the day will come when none of us can play.
My two cents - you don't "create a market." You create a product, anticipating
a market need. An infinite supply is no good without demand. Moreover, in time
the most prolific product falls into oblivian.
That said, we need to protect the creator of a product from theft - hence digital rights,
but the management should not make it impossible for honest citizens to copy/use the product
for their own personal use at home either.
We are getting closer to taking away the rights of the individual who has made an
honest purchase. Said individual used to be able to do pretty much anything with
content or equipment he paid for, and in general, the courts had ruled in favor
of the private user. No longer is that the case.
The video is funny, but I've tried the Vista public beta, and I loved the speech recognition.
Outside of minor beta bugs, it worked flawlessly. I only wish it were available now.
A EULA is a long, legal document explaining why you, the user, who just shelled out $300,
is being allowed to "use" their product. How nice of them. It (the EULA,) exists to insure
that the company is covered.
It should be evident that persons who abide by the EULA are honest to begin with. Companies
losing millions to piracy are mostly being hit by criminal elements, not honest folk.
To that end, the only proof needed for use of software should be some proof of actual
purchase. As well, the big software companies could let up on the honest with a short
paragraph saying the purchaser should not give copies to friends and/or relatives. No
big copy protection needed, just some trust.
Those new to wi-fi may leave themselves open, but many commercial
business places, even those with a secure ap, often have open aps.
I would like to propose that business begin using the word "Public"
as part of their open connections if they intend/permit public use of the open
aps.
I think this would clarify the situation for wi-fi users, and help
prevent confusion and possible legal charges against users.
Ok. The future of computing is:
128 video card cores on your home computer,
all displaying on one humongous monitor,
and running the original Halo for pc.
After a short time, converter boxes will (should be)
as cheap as dirt, and those with "old" technology can
still watch free tv. Same thing happened when UHF came
along. Big deal.
Neutrons have no electrical charge, so what happens when one meets it's opposite? Opposite what?
Because it was copied word for word. It was not "rewritten."

Why don't they just go ahead and make it impossible to play anything on any device ever. Then the movie industry would be happy.
Well then, the proper thing to do is for all our news agencies to violate all of their "rules" simultaneously.

If they really want to protect the children, they can deep six the porn domain altogether.

So let me get this straight, if the wearer drops dead they will know where you are?

No doubt due to global warming, and we're responsible..
I guess Utah forgot the 400 scientists that signed a paper last year doubting Darwinian evolution...
While he's at it, he better ban all cell phone use, and turn off the lights as well. Can't be too safe...
For just a second, I thought Microsoft had discovered a new planet...
