Just to widen the discussion... What about amateur rocket lauching, commercial space launch industry, and other newer developments... I can see a demand for this guy in fields other then govemental fields... If a startup space launch company in the states wants someone firmiliar with rocket technology, this guy would be a great asset to help move to the us and have accomodations for...same goes for any country wanting to jump onto this bandwagon.. just my opinion though.. for all the conspiriacy theroy ppl;)

Finnaly.. ...something that will truely keep me stuck to my computer desk...
I don't know about the other guys in that age range - but who wants to watch all these reality shows? I had hard enough time keeping up with season 10 of a normal show, now theres season 5 of ppl doing weird stuff on tv.
I used to listen to my collection of music.. all kinds.. listened to the stuff they put on the radio - downloaded way too much of it...
Then my sisters boyfriend introduced me to www.digitallyimported.com - a trance/disco streaming website.. and its free.
So.. getting to the point.. I ended up deleting my stash of mp3's because It was just taking up Hard drive space eventually...
I used to think that music not on the radio was crap.. but the truth is this stuff is worth listening to... broaden your scope of music you listen to.. perhaps you will find this to be just as true as I have...
Mind you I stil listen to the radio on the bus.. but at home I like freelance stuff:D
With the growing trend of the more advanced game playing age groups spending more time online and less time watching tv (I am one of this group) I have yet to see much online advertisment that would even incline me to click to a games website.
If I watch less TV these days, and don't see any advertisments online that are complelling - then I am left in the dark. I kid you not that I am almost 100% out of the loop these days with games.
Perhaps they should target the more advanced games to the online majority more and they will get the attention of the more tech savy people who only play good games and not Mario Kart.
Maybe some more advertisments in theaters on the big screen? I thought I saw some of them a while ago but they stopped...
I think the main problem I see is the lack of new methods of games being shown to users. TV commercials are great for some, but what percentage skips commercials - and what percentage is just online? Much Music (canadian) is good for advertisments afaik.. but I think there is a *lost* generation of gamers out there...
What happened to all those gamers TV shows that used to air weekly? I don't get any with basic cable?
I kind of laughed with my co-workers at the topic when I saw It..
OK.. maybe I put the customer on hold and told the guy next to me, but while this is somewhat true....
From a more serious standpoint, some tech's exagerate the inabilities of users, and tend to be not as patient as they could be.
So, Joe Smoe forgot to plug his power cord in? Well why not just have him plug it in and see if he can connect? Why make a big deal?
There are a ton of similar issues which seem to be downplayed as stupid things the users do, but thats why we are here.
I personally believe that the reason that such actions are taken with such a bofh'ish attitude is the quality of the workplace, and the stress with dealing with someone over the phone that doesn't think exactly as you would like them to.
Perhaps there should be a study on how tech's often talk down to the customer because of the simple things, which the tech's themseleves are responsible for.
I do however, figure I'm set with my job, because there will always be users who need help:D
Actually.. the burn out stage is between 3-6 months.
Most employees like supporting customers for the first 3 months, but then begin to see that there is no end to the madness:P
The ones that last past this burn out stage are the people who know how to deal with the customers, and not to take anything personally...
Or like me.. I know how to use the mute button while I discuss them with my fellow co-workers. It helps relieve the stress.
If you take your job too seriously in tech support, and are not able to help the people as well as you feel you can - you may feel like you've failed for some reason... but if you take into account that some people just don't care as long as it works.. or those that just complain for no reason.. then everything will fall into place.
Ccanadian companies are loosing their grip on the "per GB" market ".. I even got an email from my isp telling me any overconsumption from the 11th this month and onwards will be credited to me:D
(this is for videotron and sympatico in canada if you wre curious)
I actually don't think they plan on beating Google with quality..
I'm suspecting Microsoft will simply go with Quantity of Publicity - Advertisments.. They might make a really fancy webpage that people find cool - but I don't expect Microsoft to provide a good search engine at all.
I agree completly - it is sadly 100% true for about %30 of internet users.
Working as tier2 tech support for a major cable isp, I've many-a-time had to explain to customers that just because their home page is "www.msn.com" doesn't mean they need to keep their dial access account with MSN.
Or even more related - customers will call in asking where their service is and why they cannot connect - and sure enough their home page is yahoo.com etc.
This being said - One can only hope that microsoft isn't smart enough to pay all the major ISP's to use their search engine on their home pages.... Doh.. there goes that patent;>
Install Windows 2003 Server on a few p166's and cluster 'em so can they actually boot up;)
But really.. im sure a good ol' pentium 166 will do better clustered then Playstations.. this seems like they are running out of things to research;x
i agree completly - The first movie was all cozy and left you feeling good about the movie.
The second one just plays with your mind about the first movie and leaves you on the edge of your seat.
I don't think i can help from speculating about the 3rd movie for the next 6 months;)
If the movies ending turns out to be a disapointing 3rd turn in the plot i will be very disapointed ! heh
-Dem
I actually watched that movie - the plot was ok..... it wasn't the matrix..:D
Besides.. by using the ending they used.. they can almost guarentee that everyone that say the second part of the movie.
Was I the only one really mad when they ended the movie like that!?:0

On a more serious note... blah
Just my opinion.. I am not a game fanatic..

Just so you know,

The Red Hat Network is much nicer then windows update.
*Remote* manual updates and system reboots. Even has precious automatic updates.
Perhaps you should diversify?
This is the problem with windows... its made for.. ill refrain from that..

Or is shoutcast not classified as internet radio as such?
Technicly if you had the bandwidth you could have a mass audience....

Something tells me IBM is about to get down and dirty.. and SCO should be worried :>
The ipod has a 3rd party add-on that does something similar - but having it built in would be a plus.
;)
Check out an article about it here
The again - I'm still ranting about the battery issue
They let you replace the damn batterys ;)
Until then I have my trusty AM/FM radio.
