Can Hollywood change? I doubt it, so the onus is on the public -- the music buying and movie buying public -- and the artists who particpate in the new technology like Phish and Pearl Jam. If the fans support musicians who have embraced technology, then Hollywood will change. Now, don't get me wrong, they will change only when they see they can get a buck out of your pocket.
and not just managers . . . as i see it most changes occur over the weekend -- even with change control. the problem lies with hurried changes brought on by both managers, developers and business drivers. sigh.
Without reading the article -- a requirement for all/.ers -- I'll take it one step further and not read the posts because most, if not all, posts will bash Lucas for making crappy movies and Jar Jar.
Seems were straying from the cutting edge, since this has been since this web page http://www.tvdsb.on.ca/banting/ICE3M/unit6/floppy/ floppy.html dates Floppy's existence to June 1997.
INTERNET (Nov 28): In a surprise move, the readers of Slashdot got in a tither over the latest lobbying efforts by Microsoft.
"Seriously, how can a group called "Initiative for Software Choice" that's backed by major players against open source (see Microsoft) be open and objective in this?" said Digital Dad.
Throughout the thead dot head used disingenuous remarks to show their anger. "Because of course, Microsoft is known in technological circles as having a very secure product. After all Windows Xp is the most secure operating system according to Microsoft," said avaric3.
Some have predicted that the dot heads will get into a new tither when Microsoft's Office 11 is released. Stay tuned.
Agreed. This is a no brainer, especially in New Orleans writes up the contract correctly. As a consultant, we would be up the creek in a similar situation. Sure payment may be due at the end of a project, but when you mess up or don't deliver what was expected, the poop hits the fan. New Orleans is absolutely doing the right thing here, I just hope they had good lawyers in the beginning; if not, they'll have to have them when everything is complete.
Microsoft got bigger. Important projects grew bigger. Problems escalated. Old school complains about the new kids. This article has as much importance as this comment. Mod me down, Scotty.
FluidicSpace and warpSpeed have to be commended for being honest in their motivation (ISP owners) for their response (pay for it, damnit!). Now it we could get other/.ers and politicians to the same, we might get somewhere.
Free ISPs are a thing of the past, remember Kmarts BlueLight? What's funny though is that AOLers will pay for the ISP service and receive ads. So, will ads be part of an OS. You betcha. I'm sure Redmond is alreay looking into this.
I went to the RIAA website to see what was their respone was and there was nothing much on the Boucher legislation. But there was this interesting link which to an article from the Philly papers. Obviously the RIAA Mafia didn't read the article before posting the link, because if they did, they never wood have posted it. Tom Moon suggests that the record labels reduce the cost of CDs, stop selling CDs that won't play on computers, etc. Could RIAA be their own worst enemy?
7 hrs per day playing video games, I could see it if it was your job. I'm thinking that might 8 hours a day at work might be too much. Cut down on TV,/., porn, etc. What would I do with my time? My guess is that the guy across the street who spends every waking moment working on his lawn has as big as a problem as a kid on his Playstation all day long.
It's the University of Delaware on the Delmarva Penninsula where they slaughter some 2 million chickens a day which is 1600 tons of guts and feathers dumped as well. See http://www.poultry.org/environment.htm for more information.
It is my understanding that large companies install their own OS image on workstations. So whether the OS comes pre-installed or not is of no importance. Also, if I am correct, the XP OS for companies does not automatically update itself. And, do you think that MS would turn down a 2,000 user W2K purchase?
This lawsuit is not against Budget, but from the article: The local Budget agency is a licensee of Budget Rent a Car Corp., which does not have control over local licensees' business practices, an official of the Lisle, Ill., company said.
Also, the corporate-run Budget locations use this technology for tracking stolen cars.
I know I'll probably take a lot heat for this, but is pot really helping Richard Wallace? Or is it just adding more problems to a list of pretty severe ones?
Me, I would like my computer to be brown like a monkey. The monitor should look like a monkey's face, cute and stuff. Now that I think of it, what I really want is a monkey. I'll call him Slash. We'll go on long walks in the summer rain, laugh at each other's lame jokes, and when the lights go out . . . Yeah, what I really want is a monkey.
Neighbors getting together for a neigborhood ISP! I'm still laughing. Jeez, here in the States, most neighbors don't even know each other's name, and, if they do, they probably can't stand each. Just take a look at the Relationship to Victim column in this Supplementary Homicide Report from Texas. I know this is a cynical attitude to take, and, luckily, this is not my situation. There's nothing better than standing on my neighbor's front lawn drinking can after can of cheap beer on a hot summer evening. But everyone on my block are AOLers. 8-(
You know, reading all these comments about Who and Buffy, I just don't get it. Oh, well, personal preference I guess. Maybe it's like sushi, you don't know how good it is until you get drunk one night and eat it. No sushi/Buffy analogy intended. Me, I prefer to show my geekness by asking people if they every watched Captain Scarlet and the Mysterions.
IMHO, going to school would serve two ends. First, it would put you with others who HOPEFULLY want to learn and a professor (or grad student) who HOPEFULLY wants to teach. Second, and probably most important, here's another opportunity to teach your daughter a life lesson: Learning doesn't stop when you get out of school. She will also see you struggle and succeed with the some of the issues that she is dealing with. Good luck in whatever you decide!

I thought that Colubia was damaged at take-off, not while in space.

Yeah, beer might kill brain cells, but it also strengthens bones.
