Would you happen to have links to something I can read about "missing links" from a scientists point of view, particularly the abuse of the phrase? I would like to learn more about this issue.

I'm not that knowledgable about evolution but I do know that many keep saying that there really is no such thing as the "missing link" and people that keep refering to such an elusive idea do not fully understand. Why then, does slashdot, supposedly with a fairly intelligent readership, seem to keep posting articles with headlines containing "missing link" so often? Why keep talking about it like it has been found (again and again) if it really doesn't even need to exist in the first place? Sorry, I'm confused.

If it's a war they want, it's a war they'll get! I used to download movies and such on occasion to check out if they are going to be worth my while seeing, renting or buying. I really like the convenience of it. I have purchased MANY more music CDs since mp3s became so easily obtainable... all because I get to preview what the music will be, making all my music buying decisions be perfect because I know exactly what I'm getting. With all these attacks on file sharers, I think I will start making it my policy to ONLY download illegal media from the Internet. Why should I support industries that are just in it completely to make a buck and not caring about what's important to their customer? I hope all other will join me, and download everything illegally! Lets put the big media corps out of business! No more hollywood trash! The REAL artists with the REAL skills will continue to make their product and distribute it. Suck it, hollywood!

He can keep pushing his lovely OS, but PLEASE PLEASE stop the bashing and FUD against Linux and anything that might be seen as possibly creating a dent in their money flow. Fuel cells electrochemically convert fuel into electricity, without bothering with the awkward combustion process that dooms regular engines to inefficiency. The fuel that most currently workable fuel cells run on is hydrogen, which is a bit of a pain to store and transport. A device called a "reformer" can be used to convert methanol and water (much easier to store) into carbon dioxide and hydrogen, but reformer-based fuel cells aren't very efficient, and small models for portable electronic devices are less efficient still. "Direct methanol" fuel cells (DMFCs), on the other hand, run from un-reformed methanol. DMFCs are the things most likely to end up in your laptop or mobile phone. Learn more about fuel cells.
