    Isn't antarctica non-US territory? Wasn't there an agreement not to exploit the ressources from anarctica? Wasn't this for protection of the environment? Then, wtf do the U.S. want to build a road here?

    It'll take not too long until this road will be used commercially, although they deny it now. :-(

    White Mars (at least this is the German title translated back :-) by Roger Penrose (for those who do not know: he worked a lot together with Stephen Hawking) and a well known SF author whose name I don't remember now (book is lended).
    Story goes about how the first martian colony, which depends on earth's support, has to survive on its own when the earth's economy and nearly everything else breaks down.
    Very realistic from technology's view and an amazing picturing of human behaviour in such extreme situations.

    Roadmaster: you DON'T want to be dungeon master to a bunch of 15 drunk fellas whose level 20 characters have just been slaughtered by a couple of lucky kobold assassins.

    If they really fell by kobolds at level 20 I'd wonder how they got this far ...

    I think he meant that there should be no extra piece of software like GameSpy to play an game in the net. The game should bring everything it needs with when installing it on my machine.
