dumping = You buy the stuff for 2 bucks, and sell it for 1 buck
selling at pricess that do not cover cost = You buy for 2 bucks, spend a buck on bureaucracy and sell it for 2.10 buck, cos you have no idea that the bureacracy cost a buck, instead of the 0.05 bucks you thought it cost.
1 is illegal, 2 is just stupid although the difference is trivial.
If MS did this, I'd have a problem with this. There are some very good reasons why there are rules for commercial speech. Those rules have come into existence after much deliberation with advertising agencies, and they agreed to it. This time, it's linux ads in front of your house. Next time could be cigarettes at the entrance to kindergarten, or hustler at the YWCA. The fact that it's a nice picture in the commercial doesn't matter to me. I would be more of a hypocrite if I supported it. I wouldn't support it for MS, McDonald's or Disney. I don't support it for linux, even though I quite like the picture itself.
just speculating here.. but maybe they hooked up the turbine to a CVT (continuous variable transmission) which would allow the turbine to keep turning at the same speed, changing the transmission rather than the RPM. It would make sense for a turbine..
If your company tells you to kill someone, you'll get arrested. The fact that your job is in danger is a VERY bad reason to break the law. You do the painting, you do the time. The guy should have known better and IBM got off too easy.
oh bugger... i better hide. Although I didn't nuke sacramento, I did singlehandedly cause several thousand deaths. (hey what a nice evil temple complex built in the side of that mountain... wonder what would happen if I cast "earthquake"..). We'll resurrect the princess afterwards, way easier than infiltrating and getting her out alive..
Most ball-sports are based on war. eg. baseball is based on sieging a castle, football is 2 armies trying to "take" the others castle (=score a goal)..
should those be outlawed under 18 too?
What about martial arts? They're definately violence based. but there is ONE big difference: the difference between violence and played violence. Kids know the difference between playing and real. If violent games are outlawed there are a lot of things that shoulkd be outlawed:
-under 18, you cannot play a part in any play that contains violence/murder/whatever. (sorry kid, you can't be McBeth..)
-ballgames (most, not all. However I highly doubt kids will go: Yeah! Bowls! what a cool sport... )

Is Law Copyrighted?

Strictly speaking.. you're right. At the moment..
There is a potential problem though, namely the fact that government does not provide complete lawbooks, or complete words of all the laws. Only new or changed laws are published, and it is left to the publisher to collect them all. Basically, the single laws aren't copyrighted, but the complete set is. I'd give you more info, but if you speak dutch, you may want to read this article (from 1998) which is a lot clearer than I'll ever be. Yes... it surprised me too:(
a hydrofoil has lifting surfaces below waterlevel to lift the ship's hull(s) out of the water, like the wings on a plane. This greatly reduces drag. ekranoplanes have no contact with the water. The ekranoplane is closer related to the hovercraft than to a hydrofoil.
with Open Source, you don't need warranty because you can see EXACTLY what is going on. The sourcecode perfectly describes the functionality of the software. with free (beer) software you do not have such a precise description of functionality, so you have will have to believe the maker when he says the functionality of the software is X.
This may not be the reasoning, but it at least sounds slightly lucid.
no.. kids do NOT need control.. they need guidance.

One could also call it "self-regulation", which most people here seem to prefer over law.
