As the grid transitions from fossil to renewable, EVs get cleaner. In most states, they are already much cleaner than ICE cars... equivalent to about 100 mpg ICE car. As far as the transition to EVs, there have been several reputable studies of the transition (Bloomberg, Stanford, ING) and they predict new sales primarily electric within 10 years. Phase out of old ICE cars will take longer but now that the TCO of EVs are on the cusp of surpassing ICE cars, it will be a powerful incentive to ditch your expensive to run ICE car and buy an EV. (Used car prices will suffer.) Also, several countries (France, Norway, Sweden, India, China) are pushing to ban ICE cars (with various timelines).
Electric motors have none of these problems. Stranded assets. Fossil fuel and internal combustion engines will be replaced within the next 10 years by EVs. Big problem for industry. They can keep investing in a failed technology or move to EVs. So far they have been resisting change but they are becoming dinosaurs.
If you don't find anything of value, then renounce your US citizenship and adopt a new country (preferably one with more lenient tax policies)... that's what corporations do and they don't even have to leave the country.
The Trump "family" is acting like a mafia family. Extortion, racketeering, influence peddling, attacks on the judges, etc. Yes, I believe this. It's time for the willfully ignorant realize what is going on.
One thing you need to know about rich people. They never have enough money. They always want more and they are willing to do anything to get it. (Re: Partisan. I was only commenting on Trump since he is the current and most despicable inhabitant of the White House. I agree that Democrats also sell their votes to corporations. Our political system is totally corrupt. This is just the latest and most extreme example.)
I have to agree. Musk does come up with a lot of wild ideas but he has an uncanny record of success. Really, start a car company making electric cars? Are you crazy? Really, start a rocket company to compete with NASA, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, etc.? The shorts keep attacking Tesla and keep losing piles of money. Not a good idea to short Musk.
That's a very naive view of the way our government works. Representatives work for corporations who bribe them. At election time they use the money to put up TV advertisements telling ignorant voters that they will do all kinds of good things for them. After the election, they go back to doing the work of corporations. The GOP and Trump have perfected this model of winning elections. So, if you're a corporation looking for government money all you need to do is get "approval" from the Trump mafia running the country. Apparently Musk got approval from Jared Kushner so that's all he needs.
Apparently it was Jared Kushner who "approved" the project. This is the way our totalitarian capitalist government works. Just get the OK from the mafia boss representative of "the family" and you're good to go.
Don't know about the biggest and most complicated but that's another subject. As far as US citizens working abroad, they do give you credit for any tax paid to a foreign government and they do have a rather large base exemption before tax kicks in. What makes you think that you can take the benefits of being a US citizen and not pay any taxes?
So... you have a secret source of information on a secret program to replace Tesla batteries that nobody else knows about? I'm sure we would all love to hear more...
The big picture point that I think you are missing is that nobody is going to stop using fossil fuels until there is a replacement source of power. It is absurd to look at the cost of abruptly stopping use of fossil fuels. Nobody is going to do that. What people are doing is replacing fossil fuels with wind and solar power because it is cheaper and cleaner. Nobody willingly pays for the cost of lung disease or sea level rise. These are costs which fossil fuels impose on everyone. It is an involuntary subsidy of fossil fuels. Nothing voluntary about it. Nobody chooses to get lung cancer or have their house swept away in a flood. The fossil fuel industry imposes these costs on others. They don't pay these costs but everyone else is forced to pay them. No willing buyers and sellers here.
I can understand why those who still use Windows are defensive but any objective view of the issue of security would have to conclude that Windows continues to be a security nightmare with new vulnerabilities being developed and exploited every month. "Stupidity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result."
These predictions are from conservative banks, not wide eyed environmentalists.
The economic case for EVs will be compelling in a very few years.

He got verbal approval from mafia don Jared Kushner which is the way our government works now under boss Trump.
That's all he really needs.

The article in Quartz states 21,000 liters of fuel costing Rs 12 lakh ($18,000) which is more realistic so the summary is the culprit here.
Don't forget the rounded corners!

You made the assertions... how about backing them up?
Your logic is odd. This makes no sense.
"- but the fact that there is no replacement now means that there is in reality no subsidy."
You are trying to defend the indefensible.
I can understand why those who still use Windows are defensive but any objective view of the issue of security would have to conclude that Windows continues to be a security nightmare with new vulnerabilities being developed and exploited every month.
"Stupidity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result."
Your patch is a temporary fix.
The real fix would be to dump Windows.
How about 5 years at 1.87 or 10 at 2.3 % ?
Still much cheaper than the scumbag banks.
You really need to get some new lies. Your talking points have all been disproven a long time ago.
This makes no sense. Why would people die waiting? Perhaps from pollution?
