YMMV. I have a Nokia 6600 phone, T-Mobile service and I hear this sound all the time. It was especially loud when I was using a Lucent headset phone at the call center I used to work in. I still hear it over my headphones (both pairs are made by Sony - one wired, one wireless).
The sound isn't particularly loud over my headphones. Sure, it disrupts whatever I'm listening to when it occurs, but, like someone else mentioned, it is also an indicator that my phone is about to start ringing. For that reason, I don't really mind the noise.
It depends on your situation, I guess. I happen to be single (like a lot of folks here, I gather) and live in a smaller city. Going to see a movie is usually a cost of $5-7 for me.
Of all countries, Germany is one of the trickiest to tackle, publishers say. The country has spent five decades developing one of the world's strictest decency standards for virtually all media, from books and comics to music and games.
Yet they produce some of the world's raunchiest pr0n.
I enjoyed the original, but then I felt ripped off when I started to play Legacy of Darkness because all of the environments were essentially the same.
Whoa. We both posted this movie at the same time.
"Art! Your wife's home! And your house is on fire!"
"My wife's home?!?!"
And of course my.sig has always been:

That was a terrific post. By the way, did you know that the word "pharmaceutical" is misspelled on the front page of your web site?
Eight year olds, dude.
Erectile Tissue Implants
Yes, it is old and boring. I regret having posted it.
I, for one, welcome our new serpentine robot overlords.

The Opposite of Sex with Christina Ricci. God, what a horrible fucking film.
Oh, I didn't catch the "third-party" designation. Thanks. I guess I should RTFA before posting. :)
I find the lack of Metroid Prime: Hunters on that list disturbing.
The Big Lebowski Bowling Challenge
They should use this song on the soundtrack: http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR0046 4

Me fail English? That's unpossible!
if you can run Adobe Premiere on this thing.
When this baby hits 88 miles per hour, you're gonna see some serious shit!

I can't believe nobody has mentioned this one yet. That's where my .sig came from.
Microsoft, I mean.
Maybe that's the drooling sound.
