I'd like to see the hardware they have to handle the web traffic. There will be litterally millions of people trying to access the webpage on the day. I'd really like to submit my information electronically but I'm not going to wait around for ages to do it if the system dies in the arse.

I'd rather fill out the form if its going to take me just as much time to submit it online.

Assuming the system stands up to the traffic I'm all for it. I can type my details much faster then write them and I don't have to talk to the census collector when they come to get it.

Yes I realise it is a traditional measurement. I don't really care about units, it's just the fact that they are measuring fruit in the same way one would measure liquid. Fruit isn't liquid, I'm just wondering who, way back in the days of yore, decided it would be better to measure fruit by liquid measurements and not by their mass.

  12. Thanks for the conversion on Ripeness Sticker Coming to Supermarket Fruit · · Score: 4, Insightful

Thanks for the conversion but why would you measure fruit in gallons or bushels? Perhaps some measure of mass would be more appropriate, say Kilograms, Pounds, Tons or Tonnes.

Access is a very powerful program, if nothing else it allows you to easily create a frontend to a much more powerful database with very little fuss.

Access is huge in business because it is trivial to modify the user interface, and to add functionality later on. A massive database solution might do the job faster but if the IT staff can't go in and change the interface every now and then it is pointless. A prime example is upgrading the user interface from the one designed in 1998 for an 800x600 screen to a more recient 1024x768 interface.

I personally never saw the point of DRM anyway. I mean lets face it, it was/still is possible and relatively easy to get the music you want for free off the Internet.

The reason people pay for digital downloads is that it is convenient and fast. If I was going to copy the song, or give my friend a copy I would just download it from the usual places as an MP3.

Furthermore if I created a work of art I would find it supremely offensive to have some clensing squad go over it and take out the stuff that might offend people, chances are if it offends someone it was put there for that reason. This is with the possible exception of old works that have become offensive, but in that case they should be left as they are and taken in the context that they were created.
