    This is probally one of the best news stories I have seen on /. in a while. I went ahead and sent a link to everyone in my address book. Matter of fact I sent it to them all 3 times and then sent 1 additional message advertising how i made 55 thousand dollars in 2 hours. Now if I only knew these people in my address book.

    This is a load of shiet. Niether should be able to patent a system of renting DVD's... All walmart has to do is make a change to there proposed system that makes it different patent that and they are back in business. This is walmart they can do whatever they wish... could any other market chain pull off selling preloaded linux pc's? No... If i didnt not like netfix before now i think they are bastards...

    This too is my question. Will is the goverment trying to force down a certian brand or some of there own? Or will any internet filter work. If they dont have some deal with Websense (Yikes!) or Surcontrol (hell) then maybe an open source alternitive could be developed to fit the solution. Does anyone know if this is even an option?

    I ask was this algorrithm tested? It seems as if he would not go through all this work without testing. Did he test direct spam sending? Because any decent spammer will not send e-mail direct. Bouncing off a few misconfigured e-mail servers is a much better tactic if you wish to me a "successful" spammer. Any thoughts?

    I was able to learn QBASIC in 3 months using only the help files and Sample program. I was 12 at the time... Did the people at /. just put this up to give us all a good laugh? This cannot be a serious review of a book or ask /. question. Heres my advice buddy. A. Different Language... C++, JAVA, Python... B. This is even better then the first one. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!! Didnt you look online and see some QBASIC pages that said somthing like "Last Updated xx/xx/1990?"

    Enders game is a book for all ages. Certain demographics get certain things from the book. And the dumb people just get a good action read. I suggest Enders Game, Enders Shadow, and Shadow of the Hedgemon(sp?). Those are my favorite 3 and I would not touch Xenocide with a 20ft pole ever again.

    Wave guide antenna would be fine for directional use but the user didnt specify if he wanted directional or omni. But you are in the right direction (haha pun). You might also want to look into the converted satillite dish antennas also. Because they are already ready already for the outdoor enviroments and could be mounted ontop of any structure, fence, ect.

    Any company with a bussness stratagy that has the words "at all costs" in it really has some f'ed up company heads. I mean think about it microsoft wants everyone on there systems cause everyone knows there is no such thing as "fre windows" especially with some of the newer business plans microsoft has been tossing around.     This might be a tad off topic but enders game is a great book. Enders shadow is real cool to. And I was going to suggest to anyone that likes the 2 books to find exacly where ender first meets Bean and Vice versa and read the books almost together. Its real cool to see situations for 2 points back to back.

    Hey I never got much of a chance to read up on this but with the advertised range what is the security like? Dont tell me its like that pushover excuse for protection known as WEP on 802.11b. My big concern is that with all this range it will be hard to pinpoint where the guy with a card and a laptop is tryign to get your stuff. Or steal connection from an ISP? Anyone got any thoughts or know the security specifics?

    Im not "really new" i wouldnt say. I hopped on the Redhat Band wagon as they released version 5... Im sure that since lindows is linux even the graphs shouldnt be a problem... thanks for your input.

    So the walmart one is defenantly what's I got with. My question is what kind of issues would I run into upgrading a 1.1ghz duron. Because I obviously would not like Lindows from what I have read the interface is decent but im a gnome guy myself (with props to KDE and Enlightenment)

    I have many instant on products. Not a one of them runs Lindows... Since the site was slashdotted in a new record time I was wondering what the possiblilites of changing the OS was? Could I run Redhat with a DVD Software and X11 amp? Or is this a proprietary thing. I have been eying the $200 Modle with a 1.1Ghz Duron at Walmart.com now for a while and I think it would make a cheap Webserver and Im pretty sure I could get redhat/slackware running. My only doubt is the onboard video but im sure I can fund a driver that works. Anyone tried this?

    Well.. hopefully this will actually be a catalyst in dismanteling the DMCA. The threats of using the DMCA against honest people in creative projects has been abusive especially this last year.

    Im conufsed it sounds like your saying that it is only a threat? If the DMCA is not dismantled then the software industry is in deep.
