Warlords! I loved that game growing up. Best 4-player paddle game ever.
Is there a clone of it anywhere in the world? I'd love to play it again.

the CLAW
The CLAW has 10 "keys" and every FPS made in the last 5+ years has dozens of keys that are needed to play well. The reviews I've seen don't mention any way around this problem, which to me says there isn't one.
And don't bring up that you can map the keys to do different things. That's not what I mean, I want to be able to move (4 keys), walk, crouch, jump (3 more), go next/previous weapon (2 more), select each weapon type (usually 9), talk (1) with only my team (1) or with everybody nearby (1). Then I'd like a few keys that do special functions like throw a grenade and then switch back to my weapons (Let's say 3). I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but right there we have 24 needed keys. This doesn't even have half that.
Your site isn't compliant with standards, or your site isn't one of the ones that is incompatible with Firefox?/using lynx, can't check in firefox if I wanted to.
And make the tap a long tube sticking out, and you've got yourself a Dalek! Throw your computer in there and you'd win the local LAN party's case mod contest for sure!
Genuine Advantage (What kind of name is that? What does it mean? It's not to my advantage to have to prove I paid for Windows every time I need to reinstall) and the like is one of the main reasons I switched to linux for everything but Grand Theft Auto. I refuse to pay ~$100 and then be treated like a theif. I will never pay for windows, in any capacity, again. If that forces me to build my own comptuer every time I upgrade, so be it. Luckily, these days linux is pretty nice, what with Ubuntu and all. You barely need to think any more when installing, and no annoying registration screens!
Can someone tell me a real, legal use for bittorrent?
You're posting on it. Seriously, how many times have you seen a post on/. about some game, or app, or package, or video, and tried to download it but have been met with dead servers? Bittorrent solves that problem and for that alone it is worth having installed.
I just heard that they revised the numbers again. Now it appears that the lost data is actually just 4 credit cards. And they're all Fashion Bug cards so it would be really easy to spot them if they were used illegally.
I don't know much about blue-ray but just because they hold more data doesn't make them instantly better. A 4-point font can display more text on the screen, but that doesn't make it better than a 10-point font.
I am the bestest ever. At everything. Nobody can beat me.
What, I'm just doing what all these CDO's do. Tell you what, when one of these guys says 'Our business model is flawed. We're totally going to get taken over by another company' let me know, because/that/ will be news.
"And finally, a bit of a rant - WTF was the point of having the article spread across two pages? Keep it all on one - I don't want to have to click next for a 5+ paragraph article."
It's all about advertising, baby. Spread your article over two pages, you get 2x the hits. If it makes you feel better, I've offset your extra page hit by not reading the article:D
"The author makes this huge deal about the rumored Apple shift to Linux, and then at the end decides to say that it won't make any real affect anyway. Make up your mind!"
This is also for the advertisers. If you make someone mad, they're less likely to visit your site again, and your advertisers will leave you. So, write articles with no meat in them to keep people from leaving your site in anger. You have to have some content though, lest they leave in disgust. It's quite a trick balancing the two out.
No, they chop it up because there were jackasses who would intentionally post things that widened the page to a ridiculous degree, breaking line wrapping.
Um, you just said the equivalent of "You're wrong, and here's some extra information about what you posted."
They cut it at all for the benefit of everybody, sure, but they cut it to a number 80 for people like me.
Actualy, that/is/ the fixed version. They chop up (almost) everything that's longer than a certain length so us poor 80-columners can read the site without having to scroll sideways.
It's been a while since I saw that episode (First season? Maybe even in the pilot?) But I don't remember being surprised at the use of the term. I'm sure I'd heard it before.
The reaction it caused in Harry Dean Stanton, on the other hand...
"Cool But Useless" is a bit harsh, no? You can't see the benefit of downloading an e-book to a book-sized sheet of paper and reading it on the bus, providing the power needed to swap the screen display by moving a "turn page" lever?
Interest rate: 20% Annual Fee: $40 Randomly being declined because the machine is on the fritz: $1-$1000 purchase down the drain. Being the target of fraud through no fault of your own: Priceless.
Seriously. I understand that howstuffworks.com (and slashdot, for that matter) has to make money and all, but do they sleep well at night knowing they turned an informative website into a showcase for the latest movie?
You can throw all your stuff in my server if you'd like. Make sure it's unencrypted, though, I'll take care of all that for you.
Seriously, though, I store all my backups myself, because it's important enough to me to back it up but I'm not a corporation that can pay someone to back it up for me. Assuming you're like me, you only have one option.

Seriously? and you never have the urge to "accidentally" bump the open/close button? I'd find that urge nearly irresistable.
So, if you think it's going to take 3 hours to fix, just go out and buy a new computer.

I think you meant Richard Dean Anderson. Harry Dean Stanton hasn't done much TV since the 60's. I did just watch Red Dawn the other day, though . . .
Hah! You're right. That's what I get for posting a name I'm not sure of without checking tvtome.

may /. have mercy on my tracker.
May it indeed, yours is the first tracker that's worked. And the download is not slower, becasue you can't get slower than 0kibs.

Somebody post a working torrent ASAP! These really bad jokes using classic Star Wars lines are making me want to rip my eyes out!
Oh, and for the record, Han will get that torrent up, we've just got to give him more time.

Oh, great, now they'll be able to release unfinished BOARD games too, and we'll have to download patches to upgrade them to a working version?
