There's newer and more adult games from Hasbro. Besides, a lot of those pre-70's games are CLASSICS. And besides owning Milton Bradley AND Parker Brothers AND Kenner (IIRC they had a few board games), they also own Avalon Hill, AND Wizards of the Coast (which would also include TSR/SPI assets). Why they didn't pick up Pressman as well I'll never know.

They also act as publisher for some of those Eurogame companies in the US. It isn't Ravensburger that publishes Scotland Yard in the US, it is Hasbro.

So yes, Hasbro is the big kahuna of boardgames.

You forgot to mention that the PS4 has TWO media players.

One is the standard media player, it is the one that does DLNA, Video and FLAC audio. It has a sucky interface.

The other is the USB Music Player, which only shows up when a USB drive is plugged in. It has a nicer interface, great for playing music while gaming...but it can't play FLAC.

Also in some ways the PS4's web browser is worse than the PS3's.

For example the PS3's web browser CAN upload certain files from and download certain files to the PS3. For example if you were writing a blog post on the PS3.you could actually upload the blog pictures FROM a PS3. Or if you found a link to an MP3, you could actually download it to the PS3's hard drive and play it. You could even buy songs from the Amazon MP3 store!

You can do none of that with the PS4's web browser.

Do you mean the slim? You don't want that one either, it has zero backwards compatibility with the PS2.

The one you want is the CECHA version, that's the Deluxe launch model with both of the PS2's Emotion Engine and Graphics Synthesizer as well as WiFi, a card reader for MemoryStick, SD and CompactFlashcards and 4 USB ports.

The CECHB launch version has the same compatibility but has only 2 USB ports, no card reader for Compact flash, memory stick and SD cards and NO WiFi! Which means you cannot use Ad-hoc party to tu nnel PSP online games on a CECHB PS3.

After that the best choice is the CECHE model (Deluxe model with 4 usb ports, card reader) which is the only other model with any PS2 backwards compatibility. In this case the CECHE drops the Emotion Engine and only has a Graphics Synthesizer so the compatibility isn't quite as good.

CECHA, CECHB and CECHE models come with 60, 20 and 80GB hard drives respectively. You will want to upgrade them if they still have the original drive, the drives are user replaceable and you use standard 2.5" SATA drives including SSD's.

Do you have to install 50 GB of data to play PS4 games?

Depends on the game. I think the biggest I've seen is about 60GB, with MMO's being real space hogs. Even though the PS4 now supports playing games from external storage, don't buy a PS4 with less than 2TB of storage.

If you buy games on Disc, it installs the game to the HDD just like a PC would. (And essentially the PS4 is a FreeBSD PC with games other than Nethack to play) You still need the disc to start it up though, that's to prevent one guy from sharing his disc with all his friends.

PS4 games support a partial gameplay feature. Games will install the early parts of the game like tutorial and early levels first so you can start playing while the rest installs.

that's an average of over 3 a month, maybe not quite once a week, but not infrequently.

But it only takes 1 post to inflame opinions which might lead to those people inflaming OTHER people.

Let me give you an example of an instance on Slashdot. I don't believe it was russian trolling but an example of how one person can inflame opinion.

There was a discussion of how tech had changed how EBT (Food stamps) operated. Someone, I can't remember if it was an AC or not mentioned that they'd seen someone getting cash back from an electronic benefit card. And some other AC reported someone buying some prohibited item with such a card. That led to a HUGE thread of Slashdot tech-bro-tarians complaining about their taxes going to welfair and how poor people were stupid and all sorts of alt-right anti-poor stuff.

But... the truth is that those EBT cards support multiple benefits. One card can have a cash benefit (like unemployment) AND a food stamp benefit. I pointed this out, but it got lost in the anti-poor rhetoric. NONE of the slashdot regulars I replied to said "oops my bad, I didn't know the cards did that."

So imagine those tech-bro-tarians talking about politics with other tech-bros at work, they might go on about how poor people are undeserving cheats and frauds thusly contributing to the misinformation problem.

All it takes is one AC Russian saying "I saw some black panthers outside my polling place" or "Antifa threw rocks at me when I was at a trump rally" to inflame opinions.
