  1. Re:XBOX os on Modded XBox The Ultimate Multimedia PC? · · Score: 1

Yep, I agree completely with this review. I have owned my Xbox and used it as a multimedia/gaming center for two years now. A brilliant machine in every way.

I really really agree with this. Roleplayers are the only true hardcore geeks left out there, except perhaps for programmers and UNIX admins :)

Hm, why not use DC++? Open source too, and the power downloader's tool of choice :)

  5. Re:Linux? on Xbox Media Player Contest · · Score: 1

Doofus: truer words were never spoken. Great app, good hardware, that also just happens to have a Dolby Digital encoder chip on the motherboard :) It is the ONLY console to sport this. Plus a kick ass graphics chipset. Does anyone know If Cg from nVidia has been made compatible with (or is) the Xbox chipset? That would rock for visualizations if the code could be small enough.

  7. Re:30 something? on High Score · · Score: 1

Yeah, I remember these days. I practically grew up in my local arcades. That was in those glory days when the games in arcades were innovative and simply had better graphics than the home comp stuff. It stayed that way all the way up to Sega Genesis, just then there started to come games that actually looked better than the games down the arcade. That was basically the beginning of the end for arcades in general. As soon as the games became cooler, better looking and had more replay value, then people startd shunnig arcades. I at least looked up to the arcade machine manufacturers for innovation...

  9. SSN's and kennitalas on Governmental ID System in Japan · · Score: 1

In Iceland this is nothing new. We call it kennitala, which means the same as identification number. Before that we had a system similar to SSN where each citizen had an eight digit number assigned to him. The new number scheme is simple, you have a 10 digit code, where the first 6 digits are your birthdate, and the last four are randomly assigned to you, to prevent any two from having the same kennitala. Works wonders here, and I wouldn't like to go back to the old scheme...

Haha, this is soo true. I'm getting now perhaps 10-12 spams a day, and the funny part is...that it all comes from people I know, using hotmail addys that I didn't know they had! Those address harvesters are working overtime...

hmm dunno abt 'lost it'. I used AG mainly for live DJ sets, white label d'n'b/breakz singles and OOP stuff. Which is what it excelled at. Dunno what I'm gonna do now w/o it...
