I would rather have a black and white( or blue and black) display phone that is REALLY small with almost no screen BUT has a blue tooth connection and is data enabled.
This would allow for lower price, lower power consumption and SMALL size.
WHY have a large color screen on a blue tooth phone when my palm has a bigger screen, faster speed and can connect easily to the phone?
one could easily DL a zip file with a non descriptive title containing a thousand or more pics of children, unzip it and plan on browsing it later only to find out it was child porn when the cops raided your house.
The news story would read "Pedophile arrested with over 2,000 images on his computer.."
why not just make it even simpler...start a company, hire workers in India. PAY THOSE WORKERS almost what Americans make. Then you will drive UP the cost of labor in India. They will no longer be able to undercut us and will have to compete on merit with equal cost.
Oh, wait, that is exactly what will happen with current outsourcing.
you forgot the best option...smaller vehicles. Decreasing the size of cars and using conventional power is cheaper AND gets better MPG. Single driver vehicles( scooters, motorcycles) get better MPG than hybrids. Why drive a 5 person car to work alone?
well most of europe is VERY anti sematic right now..esp france. This is do to an increased muslim immigrant population. The muslims are by and large nice people who have had anti isreal propaganda shoved down thier throats for generations.
Look at how anti israel and pro palestinain most western european counties are. Of course this may be because some goverments , like the French, take bribes from people like Saddam Hussien to espouse rhetoric in favor of facists.
i like my rio sport...it is lighter, takes a huge beating and can hold hours of music( with an extra 512 meg SD card) a 79.95 rio with an 80.00 sd card is a better deal for me than an Ipod. I use mine of course to work out and need an hours worth of music at a time, with a few playlists so i have a choice adn am not updating it every day.
I would not mind an I-pod for listening at home, but then looks woudl not matter much. I would go with the cheaper player...OR just buy another hard drive AND a wireless media server to hook up to my home entertainment center for less money.
I do KINDA like the I-pod mini though.
1. you have to run RAELLY fast to get them started
2. they are not safe to fly around power lines, thus can not be used in electrical systems
3. Kite eating Trees

umn I have seen some home wind turbines for less than 10k. They are not 1MW, but are enough to power a house if the engery is stored.
The wind in amny places blows 24 hours a day. Small wind turbines produce more per dollar of capital in many areas AND are cheaper to maintain than solar systems. Installing wind power to a rural house( new construction OR not yet on grid) can be cheaper than running the wires to get it in grid.
Sadly there are problems with wind for most urban or sub urban homes.
good point..this house was built for 65,000 US. Of course labor in maylasia is prolly dirt cheap, but the high tech materials are likely more costly than here.
The idea of using solar power to convert water to hydrogen sounds like a great "free ride" to hydogen home power. It is likely MUCH more efficent than current solar cells.
I doubt we will ever see hydrogen powered cars( although GM has some technology that allows fuel cells to use regular gasoline in teh works)be a common place thing. Electric cars, or my favorite, fly wheels - AND- hybrids make mroe sense.
well why not just put the hydrogen tank outside yoor house and use wire to carry the power in? It could be several feet away( farther in rural houses ) and burried. ALso you could put a small concrete wall on the house side of the tank to deflect any fire or explosion. Natural gas must actually touch the appliance that it runs.
well hybrid trucks and SUV's are coming on the market in the next year. This will eliminate many classes of parts and systems as we use internal combustion ONLY for power generation. This will allow more modular designs.
there are currntly car share services you can subscribe to. I saw an interview with people who did it. If they had it in houston, i might keep my truck and subscribe to one instead of trading in. for a 2 car family it makes GREAT sense to use a share service and just own one car.
well my dad works at a saab dealership. He is not a mechanic, but heads a dept ( they have more than one dealership it is a chain). He was talking about how hard it is to find good service people to work there. The punch line is they pay them a BASE salary of 52k per year + lots of overtime, great insurance and a chance to advance. The service manager at a dealership makes like 100k per year. None of them have to own a suit, stay in a hotel for work,or pay back expensice student loans for grad school.

actually work age laws where put in place by Unions to limit new entry into the work place and put upward pressure on wages at the time.
how do you know they did not conference in some guy from Dallas, LA or London?

well the people who make and sell equipment have a lot of money, thus can keep the cable modem market OPEN and not regulated as much by cable co's
how much is that service and how well does it work?
how much is that package and how well does it work? I have thought of the same thing.
for paid members aol has a very high attachment limit...I used to use it because I had to get very large files emailed to me.
it does not matter..most of teh nation sthat hate israel have historicly( before the current conflict) killed, repressed or expelled palestnians also.

well you could use a windmill in N. Dakota, instead of solar. You would save a few bucks too.
i thought he actually made a car that worked some what in a proto-type?

how about an "open source" car. No patents, anyone can make it, have codes for it, etc.

ok so they will be fixed by people in mexico, repair techs( unlike call center employees) do not need to speak english to fix our stuff.
