Its been the best star trek's for me since the borg were introduced (lacutis especially) in Next Generation. Voyager is just a tad rediculous - flame me if you like, its just my opinion. I find the timeline that they chose to do it at perfect - right as we left the planet and started exploring. Star Trek left a big gap in where we are today and where we *could* be in the future and Enterprise is filling that pretty well. And Jolyne B.'s buttocks are spectacular:)
Anyone else think this would be a good investment?

Stockwise that is? I know out in the workplace construction workers could really start to network operations and be more efficient with a little WiFi in there.
I mean really? This could be a huge tax break in a way. Charge anyone who bases their spam ops in the US, or whatever country really, a flat tax on each spam they send. Of course there would have to be a judge and jury about this *cough*/.*cough* but i'm sure the populous would be able to decern what was spam and what isn't.
And then that moves me to overseas operation spam. Well, there should be some online despository for ISP admins to get together on, corolate on who is sending what spam from where - IF they are american in origin, and have just moved to china for the pure spam operation, tax them in whatever way you see fit.
No offense, but you probably aren't very good at CS. I can go play a game basically any time I want, and even though i'm pretty much inactive due to www.natural-selection.org I don't find it hard to find my name on the top of the list. Usually the only people on top of me are clanners. I don't cheat at all, so are you saying that all clanners cheat?
btw, I'm not a god at CS... I've just played enough to realize all you have to do is tap your mouse button. HEY! I guess all that tapping we did when playing megaman will count!:)
is the basic lack of a keyboard and mouse. Why in the world would I want to take a step backwards? I personally LIKE computer games way more, as they are customizeable to the extreme!! *best duffman voice* OH YA!
When was the last time you were using a controller for xbox online and were accused of using an aimbot? Never? Hmmm.... wonder why that is. Now lets see - for me, the last time was probably about a week ago in CS. Nuff said. (and I swear if anyone says i'm a cheator... NARF!)
I can't help but think that people will start to associate HP's overall lackluster in the home pc market with linux? Hopefully this is just a server type thing because HP does make some pretty sweet servers. And we definatly don't need noobies with HP's thinking they can tackle red hat just becuase they can change the properties of a shortcut in windows.
The porn industry has hit this year's low sales mark. Even Jenna Jameson cannot afford to get her crotch waxed for that silky smooth look I've all... err I mean YOU ALL have grown to enjoy so much. Ya.. thats it.
ok ok... so sony kept uniformity...
Can't say much for anyone else. Tell me you didn't freak when you saw the SNES controller after using the NES controller playing Dragon Warrior for all those countless hours.
How many different console systems can you name that have the same controller?
I thought so - now think of how easy you have changed your binds on another person's pc when you are about to start gibbing.
thought so.
So uh - whats wrong with the servers we have now

Is there some reason they are not working well enough? Um.... a 3.06ghz P4 will run a good 30 people game in UT2003, with no performance lag. If you'd like to know what I mean by performance lag, think back to when you had a p2 400, and when you tried to run serious sam it was fine until you got to the section with 100's of enemies. I know its not the same thing, but even 2.0ghz is enough for just about any server.
What do I think? WOOP DE FREAKIN DO! It won't affects pings and thats all the people playing on the servers should care about - that and the server has sufficient power.
I dont have feelings either way, but I can't help but wonder if this is a good or bad thing. I mean, we are basically taking shortcuts, and in the evoloutionary way of things, shortcuts usually have an adverse affect. Is our gene pool strong enough to coincide genetically altered DNA?
I'm all for creating new organs out of stems cells, if its needed for life. I know many good people would have lived longer if all they needed was an organ transplant.
Science is good, but you have to keep it in check with average human prosperity. Its like the "Prime Directive," you have to follow it or theres drastic consequences you can never forsee. You wouldn't give a monkey a gun if you knew he could understand the consequences of using it. Same thing applies here in an obscewred point.
It seems that this is the basic theory in this - maybe i'm missunderstanding, but it doesn't really seem like a lottery at all - sort of a quake3 tournament for people that don't have the skill to play quake3, or aren't inherently good at fast reflex requiring games.
I bet if there was a game like Diablo 2 where some sort of cash reward was involved, but it was a pay to play service like EQ, many many people would get very hooked on it. HEY DON'T STEAL MY IDEA ****patent pending****
There are so many free alternatives out there. I mean, look at efnet and dalnet. Someone out there will follow suit and create a server on their resources. I think a lot of people pay for AOL becuase they are ignorant - not stupid.
1 - the developers don't really know how to cater to all of their audience. One person that likes HALO might not like C&C.
2 - No change of the storyline. As soon as someone integrates diablo2 with doom3 we will have a game everyone can enjoy.
3 - NO FREAKIN COOP GAMES. I'm personally very sick of playing Quake1 coop over and over simply becuase its the basically the only one out there. I'm sure there are others, but they've hidden pretty well from me.
4 - graphics card manufacturers. It takes much longer to port a game for multiple vid cards that it does for just one, and you get much more performance if it was just one. ATI and Nvidia need to agree on a set of standards - that would help immensly.

Very true. I would give you mod points if I had any ATM.

How does my post get mod'ed down to 5, but posts branching off from it get 5's. Grrrface - my creativity is getting pwnedzorized.
I'm going to patent the process of making a patent. That and the internet.

I think it would be sort of like communism.... its great in principle but not in practice.
even 10,000 rotations per minute isn't enough to keep up with the /. effect.

This is an extremely bad move on M$'s part IMO.

well, i'm saying a personal computers use is completly met by windows.
If you are a dev, its a different story. I'll give you that any day.
