    Interesting problem. I swear.. We need a person as rich as Bill Gates, who would just do public works with is money. BUild a publicly owned infrastructure(no leasing to companies) etc..We are approaching a time where we really need public works projects that dont focus on money, but freedom and equality.

    I believe you are a troll. A lot of things can be automated by the hardware and software so that a newbie user doesnt have to think about it. They're just plugging themselves into the net to get access to the internet. No difficulties. Techincal problems are solved by individuals, but this shouldnt be a problem as there can easily be enough other broadcasts in the area to provide access if one is down.

    it would seem that you'd have a point. However you make assumptions that new routing software for a mesh net wont EVER BE ABLE TO provide for a quick long distance transit.That is a fallacy. With quicker computaional speeds available, I am sure that some ingenius way will be developed to make the mesh net just as fast.

    Indeed. First impressions are very important. The wrong scheme can confuse the eye, and hinder comprehension and fascilitate use. Especially to the average business/ home user. It is irresponsible of the reviewer to do this, if not downright rotten.

    Hooray for Trillian!! Its funny how the financial industry ignores Trillian and other such multi-chat software, like it was there idea first. Rediculous. Trillian has good styling and compatiblity. The down side? I don't think there is a version for Linux. Is there?

    I knew it!! but i thought you'd use a RAT powered windmill that drives a wind turbine (being DANISH) to pump up oil which I use to oVerclock an internal combustion engine which drives my (freedom hacking MSBusting) laptop. When the laptop is off,(to hang out on other boards) I use the excess power to fill up my water reservior. At night I use my batteryless solar torches(Walmart $19.99 BUY NOW!) to power a tesla coil to run a rather natty blue fluorescent tube(Also available on GIMP in multi color wonder) Seriously, I am on /. because it gives me political power.

    If this is indeed real, he is obviously doing this for the FLARE. I imagine it can look pretty impressive to the non-iniated, and young wanna-be geek. Or even to stoned girlfriends, who like the pretty lights. She'll find it useful lighting her blunt with the SPARKS.

    I like the concept of battlebots, but their weapons are too limited. Rarely is there much damage, there is hardly any innovation of design, new weapons, new techniques etc. they look like a bunch of lame bumper cars. get the show exciting , C'mon.

    High pixel digital cameras allow for better security cameras. being able to resolve the liscense plate numbers off a car outside a store. ie. Things further away are resolvable to a useful level. There are a lot of implications to this, i think.

    But if there isnt a proper alternative that is easy and accessible, then the choice of abtaining from supporting the RIAA becomes difficult. At least for a mass boycott. I think there is more power in technology to free us from RIAA's grasp. IE. Napster sure stuck it into the MUsic industry's arse. So I expect that any major movement will be bourne from an emergent technology.

    when ever people say this i have to remind them of their ignorance. Yes we did destroy two japanese cities with a big bright ploom. But the US wiped out entire cities in Japan daily, with massive drops of conventional bombs. yes that is right. The US destroyed entire cities with conventional warfare dropped from the sky. THE Nuke, just did the same thing in one very impressive boom. Sleek killing design. And YES. War is a tragedy with no real winner.
