Ok... red eye reduction removes something that wasn't there originally. Unless the person you took a photograph has bright red eyes you are removing something that the camera artifically inserted into the image.
Not true at all. The back of the eye actually is red. When a bright light is shown directly into the iris, the tissue at the back can be seen. It really is red. You just don't see it because the iris is designed to capture light for viewing not reflect it but a camera flash sends too much light in at once. Hence...redeye.
Donate them to your local school district for a tax break. I work as a sysadmin in a high school. I know we'd take the 17" screens if they work and I know a good portion of schools could still use the 15's...
That P2P file sharing is not an illegal activity under any law!!!
It only becomes illegal if a file is traded that is copyrighted AND (most importantly) the recipient doesn't have permission (license) to use said file. End of story.
Level design in quake/quake2 is far more complex and time consuming thatn in the doom engine. My guess is that a wad of the magnitude necessary to show the battle of helms deep would've taken far longer to do in the quake or quake2 engine...and yes I've designed levels in both. I do know what I'm talking about.
Better yet, copy the.wad files off the old box and go get doom legacy to run this on your p4!!
I have run this thing myself and it is awesome! It allows for mouse-look up and down(quake style) as well as up to 1024x768 resolution via OpenGL and jumping if so desired. Read the page for all the details. It is free software requiring only the original wad files in addition to what is downloadable from the site....And for all the linux junkies, there is a linux version of the software on the site as well. Just go to the downloads page and enjoy!
Oh...The program will also work for doom2, ultimate doom and heretic. I have tested all those and only heretic was less than perfect. Runnable but not quite perfect. They also claim it will launch hexen as well but I have not tried that. The program comes with a GUI launch tool that will allow you to specify your wad file (be it the original missions or your own) that you want to play.
Did I mention that Direct Connect TCP/IP multiplayer is supported?
I love this idea! I'm tired of politicians of both major political parties telling me how much good they can do for me and then watching how much bad they end up doing for me once they're in office. Someone should market something an indivudual could hook up to their TV and give a truth analysis of the speaker right then and there.
I don't see why knowing if someone is telling the truth should be illegal!? Can you all imagine what Washington DC would be like if a "Liar Liar"-like scenario applied to all members of Congress?
Using one code to install multiple copies of windows is perfectly legal if you purchase a corporate code from M$. It may not be cost effective with a small amount of workstations but the practice in and of itself is not a legal issue.
Your statement has no merit. The info they are claiming ownership of was published by google's lawyers and is therefore none of searchking's business. Also, all court documents are public unless under a gag order and the article claims there is no gag order in this case.
Read the end of the original article. It explains further...
I had a college room-mate who experienced something similar. It was more of waking dreams. He was getting input into his brain from the real world but he was not perceiving it as the real-world. It was as if sights/sounds/words were heard/seen/understood but as if he was in a different location.
For example, he would see me but think I was someone else.
He was also *very* suggestible in this state. As you mention, much like hypnosis. Very interesting what can be accomplished by the sub-conscious mind, isn't it...
From my tech support experience, this year has been the worst for exploits.
Did your tech support experience not include Nimda and Code-Red from 2001? As bad as things were this year, they were nothing compared to when Nimda hit...at least for my network.
This guy has enough money to fight this out for a while and seemingly the will to fight as well. This could prove to be an interesting legal battle....
"Merely offering a product that could violate copyrights was not enough to warrant a conviction, "
This quote is taken from the article linked to by the author of the thread. It is from the Judge in the case and refers to an instruction the jury was given regarding conviction. Does this statement seem like it would set precedent for things like maybe...p2p networks? If you apply this statement to napster or kazaa, all of a sudden things seem to change, don't they...
Good points. Thanks for reminding me. Fox is airing SG1 on Sunday nights at 9pm on the west coast too.
At least you have a football team that can win games that is pre-empting you!
Stargate SG-1 returning

Spielberg's Taken

· Score: 2, Informative
Stargate is returning Monday December 16th and 23rd. According to scifi.com's
stargate-sg1 page, Stargate will be airing new Episodes on Friday's starting January 10th.
here's one realistic scenario that could be seen incorrectly as a DoS attack...
Setup: You are teaching classes to a lab full(lets say 30 for the sake of discussion)of kids in a school setting(gee, ya wonder where I work?). Let's say you instruct all your kids to go to some site with material for the astronomy class you teach. Let's assume that all the kids do as they are told and they all immediately type in the URL you gave them and request a page.
Let's assume your school district is behind a firewall that also uses a NAT/Proxy setup. Therefore all the requests are coming en masse from one "real" IP. Wouldn't this possibly be deemed as a DoS attack by this plugin?

Oh really? Then how would you explain the phenomenon otherwise known as Linux? Very free yet damn what a product...
Why is he sticking with DOOM, or all things?
Level design in quake/quake2 is far more complex and time consuming thatn in the doom engine. My guess is that a wad of the magnitude necessary to show the battle of helms deep would've taken far longer to do in the quake or quake2 engine...and yes I've designed levels in both. Where's the rest of the story damn it...you just had to leave us hanging...
How then do you explain this statement from the article if the source code is so widely available?
/.'ers whine all the time about M$ not releasing source to anyone...
"The source code--blueprints of Microsoft's dominant operating systems--is one of the world's most tightly protected corporate secrets"
Also, if your statement is true, why do
I never thought they'd stoop that low. I can't believe any serious music lover would want a "defective" track. Mind-Boggling...
"Microsoft will also share its Windows source code..."
I never expected M$ to do this in a million years. Does the US government have the same access to windows source code?
"...giving you unlimited downloads and streaming content and 10 burnable tracks a month to CD..."
how one can have unlimited downloads and then somehow be limited to 10 burnable tracks to CD?
"I get at least 5 solicitations a week to refinance my FHA mortgage, which I don't have anymore..."
Heck...That's nothing. I get refinance-your-mortgage spam and I've never had a mortgage before!
I love this idea! I'm tired of politicians of both major political parties telling me how much good they can do for me and then watching how much bad they end up doing for me once they're in office. "...they don't deserve it."
...nor do they need it. (I am assuming 'state aid' refers to $$$ and not legal aid...)
