I wouldn't rule out the fact either that iTunes has a slick interface that makes organising your music, buying music, podcasting, listening to internet radio and so much more, really easy. Try saying that about RealPlayer.
Wait... my bad, this runs on PPC processors, considering Windows runs on x86, that wouldn't work quite so well... unless they released an x86 version of this product, everyones doing it, including Apple!
Now all they have to do is Xen on the host machine (after being ported to Windows of course) with a OpenMosix kernel running in it, so this little puppy can harness the CPU power on the Windows host too. Not just its peripherals.
Maybe, I'm a masochist (however I *really* don't think I am) but I use gnome on 256 megabytes of ram quite happily. Not to mention a 600 MHz processeur . On top of that, I've had friends who are your usual Windows XP user, with a machine that easily trumps mine in specs, comment on how fast it is.
Saying that KDE is a better desktop experience than Gnome (okay you didn't mention it, but it's implied) is a bunch of crock. It's all relative to who's using it. I'll take Gnome as the better desktop experience anyday, but that's just me, opinions differ. But I don't make statements implying that gnome is the end all and be all.

Because Windows XP is SO professional with its Luna interface.
Well I guess THe GIMP is out for high school students, because they're ALL drunk and don't know what they're doing.
(Disclaimer: I'm a high school student)
Someday people are going to start develloping worm that automatically patch the hole they got in through... that'll be the day, no more Windows Updates
Every year farmers save the seeds from their plants, to grow next year. If his plants where cross contaminated from other patented plants, that then produced the seeds of the geneticaly modified plant, according to your logic he should throw those all out and go spend a load of money on new seeds?
One time I was planning on doing a network install, after installing the first cd, over dial-up. Unfortunantly I could not get the modem driver to work no matter what. On second though maybe it was for the better.
_Mac_ OS X is the operating system that Apple supplies with their _Macintosh_ line of computers. The iPhone is not a Macintosh computer.
Couldn't they just use google maps like the rest of us?
I remember when I was convinced that the entire interent came on one of those AOL floppies.
Mind you I think I was 7 years old at the time.
We need a firefox for media....
They're working on it, it's call Songbird

Do you by any chance live in Australia? Slashdot is an American based website.
I read that as "CA Patents OSS"
Where's the (-1 paranoid) option?
Who wants to bet that google just set up a jabber server to mess with all of our minds?
P.S. I just woke up... don't make fun of my horrible spelling.
Does this finally mean that we'll be able to install MacOS 8 on any Linux inabled computer?
I wanna be an Apple

Imagine all the new sex positions!
I agree, because of it I don't have to look at all those Microsoft ads on slashdot.
Nice, but how fast does it go?

...Can't build a site that can keep from being slashdotted
I think I'll write a worm for this exploit, one that fixes the problem, one that installs [insert any OS other than Windows here].
