I carry nalgene bottles everywhere; I just like having liquid when I want it; I got stopped @ security, I was running late, and they said I'd have to go outside to empty it out if I wanted to keep the $10 bottle; they wouldn't allow me to keep the bottle even after I drank the contents. I drive when I can instead of flying now.
I pad 1 runs Infinity Blade 2 without crashes... but iOS 5 is noticeably slower sometimes. I use mine a lot; yours may be screwed up. I'm gonna keep it as long as it works (and maybe pay someone to replace the battery). It's still a nice device IMO. I reach for it before any other tool when doing some quick surfing or email checking.
However, the real issue Apple is going to have is MacOS or iOS
There's a lot of discussion about this and I don't think it's warranted. The answer is both. Apple needs OSX, if for nothing else, to keep programmers happy.
That era was when I first assembled a pc from parts. Fun times:) I was broke so I had the no cache 266 Celeron with no L2 Cache; It ran @ 400 or so IIRC.
Every action has some associated danger to yourself and others. If you want maximum safety for your children and loved ones, have them committed to a mental institution for life.
I don't want to live in a country where big brother micromanages me. I guarantee you taxing gas 10% would save more lives than banning cellphones (while helping our trade balance too)!
I've been using one for a couple years; pricey but it does work well. I had one quit working (replaced by warranty). I wish it had good reports, and I don't really care for Airport Utility... I've got MRTG running on a server to query it... my ISP has been performing pretty badly; I'd like to see how bad; this article inspired me:)
I'm gonna try and get hourly/daily/monthly totals and identify which port is which tonight... then get some absurdly popular.torrent, and see how bandwidth performs over a few days.
Shaggar: How would you like to die, Tyrion, son of Tywin? Tyrion: "In my own bed, at the age of 80, with a belly full of wine and a girls mouth around my c**k."
I don't think that's an idiot question. It interests me. I've done a wireless setup with 40 Cisco 802.11g boxes without training, and reading their horrific documentation... I probably didn't do it as well as a pro but it works and I think my employer saved $40,000. I spent $30k to do 350 rooms with 30ish access points.
(Or they could've had someone install it for free and charged folks to use it).
I rolled out a 35 AP network @ a 345 room hotel by myself; giving support support blows; people are idiots and expect you to fix problems on their end (usually wifi or dhcp turned off); it's nice to have a 3rd party to handle it. If you want to use existing phone lines you're looking at an additional cost per run to go Ethernet --> PhoneLine --> Ethernet. Our system is far from perfect but hey, it's free! It cost ~$25k in Cisco equipment.
The fact that some people are stupid enough to think that they can safely drive when they are not looking at the road is utterly ridiculous.
It's not a black and white issue (driver attention). You aren't looking at the road when you blink; that's around.3 seconds for the average blinker. If I'm on a road where I can survey the road for a mile in front, and a mile behind, and it's empty, I can fairly safely look away from the road for 15 seconds.
It sounds like this guy didn't have the situational awareness to see the cop; that gives me some evidence this drivers attention wasn't on the road enough. Other things besides tech toys can consume attention (I just caught my sig other cheating, or got an irritant behind my contact, got stung by a bee, was brushing my teeth or rehearsing for a meeting, etc etc). These activity specific laws are dumb; it's impossible to legislate everything that's 'stupid' to do while driving.
I would guess Amazon's done this for future insurance (in case Apple tries to further tighten appstore rules which impact Amazon), and to say 'Hey Apple, most of our customers would rather deal with a less usable HTML 'app' for their books than convert to iBooks'.
I'm a big Apple fan in most things, and a big fan of Amazon; they've got me locked into their store unless they behave really badly. I think Apple went too far telling Amazon et all 'no app for you if you have a handy link or interface to YOUR store'.
I've never received fast data xfer rates from the appstore; I'm on a 7MB/sec connection right now (really 15 but limited by my wireless connection)... average download speed is.2MB/sec.
IMO that's analogous to saying 'It's anti speeder. There's a difference. When you get a ticket for going.00001mph over the limit. Immigration laws have been poorly enforced, similar to speeding laws. There are so many laws most break one every day; maybe we can hire some immigrants to run the prisons when we start enforcing ALL the laws.
Why the troll moderation? Obama has control over the DEA (can appoint a head of his choosing), and appointed Bush's choice, Leonhart. What he says and what he does aren't the same thing, especially concerning drugs and wars.

That screen's pricey, I'd bet. $499 I say :)
I would be helpful to know what OS the thing is running :)

Interesting; thanks!
Is it that hard to find a decent textbook that's either in the public domain or sold cheap?

Aargh... bad link; sorry. My HTML is rusty. Here it is, and I'd charge him with fraud. link

I like Tyrion's version better:
Shaggar: How would you like to die, Tyrion, son of Tywin?
Tyrion: "In my own bed, at the age of 80, with a belly full of wine and a girls mouth around my c**k."

BS. It's not popular to talk about it, but due to age demographics social security is fucked.

Perhaps to develop for it? If I were to do a POS system, I'd probably go iphone/ipad these days though.

Yes; that's why I drive a military model Hummer; you'll be a grease stain when I run over your Prius, hippy!
I was driving at 6; mostly around a farm but occasionally on the road. I was probably safer than the average 80 year old.
