Ahh the libertarian argument, alright lets extend it to its logical conclusion. How about the government stop paying for anything? I'll pay for my police force and you pay for yours. And while we're at it, I'll pay for my armed forces while you pay for yours eh.

Damn I don't think that each of us alone has enough money to make these things work, that means we will have to come together and share resources if we want to live past the time it takes for the others to realise the same thing.

I guess that means we'll have to figure out a way to share the resources so that everyone who contributes gets their fair share. I think this means we will have to form a group to manage those resources. We'll have to put it all down on paper as well, just to make it all legal and all, damn well if we haven't just gone and formed a fucking government.

How the hell did that happen? Oh thats right, we're human beings, a tribal/clan based animal if ever there was one.

Okay how do I reply to this one?

Well first off, the Windows Firewall is meant to be part of the OS right, so it would/should be possible to limit the ability to actually switch the Firewall off to certain users/programmes and remove the ability of third party apps to touch the damn thing.

Secondly, Webmin is a system administration tool, of course it's going to have the ability to manage the firewall, there is a major difference between allowing system admin tools to do things to the system and allowing spyware/malware to switch off the firewall in order to download the latest spam mailer virus or worse.

    Sheesh it's basic common sense.

Also the lack of contact with alien life does not automatically lead to the conclusion that there is no alien life. There could be hundreds of civilisations out there with a tech level of maybe the industrial revolution or lower. It's thinking like this that lead our ancestors to believe that the earth was flat and if you sailed too far you fell off the edge of the world.

Prove it. Seriously, if you believe that Seti is a waste of money, prove that there are no aliens and hence no need for Seti.

Seti is an experiment. A massive experiment that may prove to be fruitless, but if the big payoff does come about I think that the money will be well spent.

This is the whole point. One of the main reasons why I dislike MS is not because they are a big bad company, and aside from the nightmares I have having to support their software, its the fact that they have and will do again, abused their position to screw both the consumer and their competition in ways that are demonstrably illegal.

I think you will find that Canade has a higher per capita gun ratio than the US. They just don't think that they need to own the latest heavy mg to protect themselves from the big bad government.

In certain jurisdictions such as Arizona, all firearms are legal to buy and own without an ownership license.

So in Arizona you can go out and purchase an rpg launcher without the need for a licence? Or maybe one of those cool flame throwers. Whoopee flaming neighbours at twenty paces.

Sheesh, I think a lot of the problem with guns in america is people still think they live in the wild bloody west. That it's perfectly alright to swagger around with a six shooter.
