    Graphics cards that allow you to watch television on your monitor, by plugging a coax cable into the card.

    i agree on all your points except this one.

    i have one of these things, a good 30 bux, and i doubt i could find a tv with a better picture than my 21" monitor.

    so to me, its not a flop at all.

    Camera-phones -- Some people may love this invention. I think it's just plain silly.

    i thought this way up until a week ago.

    standing on the peak of cypress (BC, canada), with the view of the lion heads, most of the lower mainland, and the sea.. surrounded by snow..

    i looked at my cell phone--full reception. *shrugs*

    and i thought to myself if only i had a camera fone to rub it in my friends faces who would currently be at work/school :D

    linux needs to stop answering, and start innovating ;)

    the masses seek bleeding edge. not last year's bleeding edge :(

    don't get me wrong i love gentoo, and i was hoping linux could beat windows to the 3d desktop (see longhorn's specs re: d3d)

    an opengl desktop (assuming linux) would be

    1. FAST FAST FAST !!! WEEEE
    2. pretty

    and would win a lot of people over :)

    also it would improve graphic driver support through neccesity, and with that comes a better foothold for the gaming industry, which is also another drawback for linux :/ like it or not.

    what are the legal implications in the event of malicious activities performed over such a open network.

    ie:

    - child porn downloading / trading ?
    - will the riaa sue for all the mp3's downloaded ?
    - an anonymous way to spam ?
    - etc :D

    unfortunatly a few bad apples always ruin the party for the rest of us. :(

    MS has next to no ability to enforce copyright there; what makes them think they could enforce royalties?

    This might even further increase the price gap between hardware internationally, causing us consumers to go for the cheaper alternatives which boosts the foreign economies.

    repeat process monthly..

    until entire client user base consists of the elderly..

    that way you only need a 56k backbone and no one will be the wiser cuz no one ever wants to use the connection and RISK being that 1% of high users.

    all the revenue with none of the costs, voila.
