I had that idea once.. basicly, throw together as many funny EULAs as you can find, then comment them up so the stupidity is more obvious.I never had the time to go through with it, but Ill provide hosting if you do.
Except for that whole cameras everywhere you turn thing...And that law forcing you to hand over crypto keys and passwords to the govt. Which brings me to something I was thinking about before, Whats worse: 1) A govt that forces you to give them your keys when they ask. or 2) A govt that dosnt ask or inform you in any way, but instead uses tools like Magic Lantern to get them?
E-Books didnt drop off the face of the planet, they're still around and in wide distribution. They're just not official, authorized, or legal. Search around and its pretty easy to find whatever book you want in.txt form. Search around for 'bookwarez'.
Google makes a good amount of money licensing their technology out (See AOL's NetFind). It also wouldnt supprise me if they got a decent amount of donations just for being the best search engine around. How many hours of research have you saved by just going to google?
How stupid do you have to be to think you have a chance suing google over improving their technology? Oh, wait, this is the same company that sold placement on a site they didnt have any rights to..I think I just answered my question
Black border? I wish. The last time I tried quake3 in a smaller rez, the rest of the screen was just garbled. Just as well, as i prefer playing in 1024x.
Limitd posts per day hell? I get the +1 bonus already. I was just trying to share the kind of stupid jokes my mind makes up right before I go to bed. Its funny, I never thought slashdot of all places would descriminate against people based on their names.
Microsoft dosnt need any money, they create it. Giving away software licenses that they can set the price to allows them to create money as part of the settlement for many lawsuits.
Its nice to see people standing up for their content, and fighting advertisements. This story made me think, could our producers sue Digital Cable for degrading the quality? (ask any time warner digital cable subscriber what 'digital picture' means, anyone with a clue will tell you it means 'lossy compression used to squeeeze in a bunch of extra channels)

Some examples of the exceptions: - That whole "dot tv" bullshit. I'd say atleast half of the people with.tv dont even know where tuvalu is. -.tk's are free for anyone, anywhere, again.. and i doubt their users can even pronounce Tokelau (note: to save you all some time, they only give redirects, its not that great.)
- and most other domains also let you register without actually being there or in any way being related to that location. see irc server in my username/sig.

I've been playing cs for years and have gotten pretty good, and I just have one question... Where can I get some of these? If any gamer groupies are reading this, despamify my email address and contact me please;)
Before counterstrike, he was best known for a little quake2 mod known as ActionQuake2, a mod that makes q2 play more like an action movie. great fun if you can find some active servers. There was eventually an ActionHalfLife, but as far as i know he didnt take part in the development of it.
Server has nothing to do with it. 10,000 slashdotters * 500k pages = 5gigs in about an hour. these figures are both estimates, but you can see that network congestion is obviously more of a bottleneck than their performance server.
Yet another crippling bombshell hit the beleaguered Ice community when last month Yahoo News confirmed that Ice accounts for less than a fraction of 1 percent of all states of water. Coming on the heels of the latest Yahoo News story which plainly states that Ice has lost more mountains, this news serves to reinforce what we've known all along. Ice is collapsing in complete disarray, as further exemplified by failing dead last in the recent "will it live through fire" test.

atleast they're not censoring it..
"So, what number of sites does it have to be before it becomes wrong?"
142.
But dont forget how much Chinese labor we use. Big price spikes all around.

For protecting the country, sure, but I doubt they'd want the military interfering with state issues.

Or did anyone else read the headline and think there was yet another outlook vulnerability?

This is even worse than them shutting down a company opperating under chinese law
When are we going to stop them?
They still cracked the official activation, to
