So do public parks, but that does not mean that the government has the legal or moral authority to censor what people say in those public areas.

Actually, it is illegal for a woman to expose a nipple in most public parks in the United States, but it's a state or local matter. The crime is called "indecent exposure". And yes, overzealous cops have arrested breast feeding women.

AFAIK, the only exception is at designated nude beaches.

Michael Powell is not my "representative."

So who is your representative in Washington DC? Chances are he or she sounded off in a sound bite for pure political gain, especially if he or she is a Republican.

Allowing artists or inventors to profit from creative work is unconstitutional unless it demonstrably contributes to that end.

Wrong. The last part is somewhat* correct, insofar as that the reason for giving an artist a limited monopoly on his work is to encourage innovation. But to say that "allowing something is unconstitutional" is bullshit, or at the very least, poorly stated. There is nothing in the constitution that would expressly prohibit an artist from profiting from his work. It would be absurd if it did, but it doesn't. So, if it's not prohibited, it's permissible, i.e., allowed.

*There is nothing in the constitution that provides for such demonstrations (of contributions towards innovation). That copyright will benefit innovation is assumed, and (obviously) copyrights are not granted on a case by case basis depending on how well it can be demonstrated that the copyright will lead to innovation.

Before Iraq, most U.S. reconstruction/humanitarian efforts were funneled through USAID. DoD is handling this for the first time ever in Iraq.

So, it shouldn't be too surprising that:

    1) All humanitarian efforts in Iraq are targets (whether or not their getting funding from DoD, there's still the stigma).

    2) DoD hasn't been able to effectively use the 18 billion earmarked. (They don't have the infrastructure, procurement channels, or experience.)

Another problem is that most of the reconstruction contracts are going to foreign companies*, not local ones. This adds to the impression that the reconstruction efforts are part of an invasion by an outside force.

This is one of the specific examples of how the current administration is screwing up in Iraq.

Have you wrestled with removing the case cover from a Ci, a 6100, a 8500 (!!!), or a Beige G3 Desktop? There is only one screw, but they can be bear to open up, especially the 8500. I'm not sure how easy the LC, the Cx, the Quadra 700 were to open up and replace components because I don't have that experience, but I seem to remember that the Cx had the same form factor as the Ci. The Centris 650/Quadra 650 wasn't a picnic either.

The big change came with the 8600, which had hinged side panel. I seem to remember that the G3 Beige Tower had similar. The B & W G3s and the G4 towers improved on this greatly, with the motherboard attached to the door, so it when you flip down the door, there is the motherboard, horizontal before you, ready for you to add RAM or PCI cards. The HDs were then easily accessible in sleds on the floor of the tower.

However, the internal design of the new iMac is a real breakthrough. Easy accessibility when space is so limited is a non-trivial problem, and it's obvious that someone worked really hard at this.

I also have a bone to pick with the poster of TFA, boredMDer. He calls whoever took the iMac apart stupid. So, if you read this bMD, how stupid is it for a tech site to take apart and examine computer equipment. Would you call reviewers at Tom's Hardware stupid because they voided the warranty on equipment they open up? If you explore the site a little bit, you'll see that they take apart iBooks and Powerbooks as well. Calling the site stupid was stupid. If you can't read Japanese, there is a (admittedly humorous) Babelfish link on the index page! Get a clue, man!
