Well, so long as they aren't engaged in payola with my close friends and associates, I should be able to avoid astroturfing. Also, one can find out pretty quickly by listening to the songs on any given playlist if the list maker's taste is utter crap.
I'm pretty sure you're just trolling and trying to picking a fight now. I was going to say, "interesting point", but instead how about a "grow up". However, I decided to google it to see what you were talking about. One minute of googling reveals that you don't know what you're talking about.
Your comparison is factually wrong. Q2DE is built in to Tiger, but disabled by default. There are no reasons for the user to enable it really, but it's there if you want to play with it. That is, if you have a ATI Radeon 9600 or NVIDIA GeForce FX or better.
So basically, you're 100% incorrect. Apple has not dropped Q2DE nor has it failed to launch it on time. It's there in Tiger. Furthermore, it is the future, as Quickdraw is officially deprecated.
It's the opposite extreme of tight-lipped Apple, who get criticized for not providing a clear roadmap*.
Whether this dropping of a major technology is due to inability to implement or typical MS marketing strategy (don't buy our competitor's product, wait for ours!) doesn't matter at this point; MS has been overtaken and it's only a matter of time before the world completely passes them by.
At one point, I thought Linux-on-the-desktop had a limited window of opportunity to reach the point where ordinary people would embrace it before "Longhorn" came out. I think MS has effectively welded that window open.
Thanks for going to the trouble of looking up the links (so I didn't have to).
Furthermore, the police can arrest someone for probable cause that a crime has been committed. They don't even have to charge a specific crime initially, although they do have to release one if they don't charge anything within a certain amount of time (usually 24 hours). One they found out this guy was a sex offender, they had probable cause that he was violating the terms of his parole (by using an open AP to surf anonymously). They might be looking thru logs as we speak to find evidence that he was accessing kiddie porn sites, although whether they could link him conclusively to such evidence (if found) is an open question at this point.
You hit the nail on the head. The OP is a jerk caught in an asshole feedback loop.
I get satisfactory to great customer service 90% of the time because when I call with a problem, I think of the person I am talking to as 1) A human being; and 2) the person that will enable me to solve my problem. In the case of 2) the part they play might be to escalate my case to the next level. In any case, they're (in my mind) already on my side before I make the call, and I make sure they understand that.
I've never worked as a CSR, but I have friends who have. So when I need to call a company, in the back of my mind I'm calling someone who could be one of those friends.
I think you skipped a few steps there. How is a company not providing an exit strategy to customers a fault of the government? (You're being graded for the logic and comprehensibility of your answer.)
Have you finally passed the caricature-of-yourself event horizon and become a libertoonian?
Iran-contra was an ugly episode in this country's history, but I clearly remember Reagan going on national TV, admitting mistakes were made, accepting personal responsibility, and apologizing to the American people. Reagan had both balls and humility in that moment, and it's a big reason why I think of him as a great president, despite his failings.
But don't you see the problem with using torches? The patent system is frightened and angered by fire! Instead, we should try to soothe the patent system with soft music and treat it with kindness.
Sorry, Guys And Gals! Recently, on this site a fake anouncement of Caldera Open Linux X was found.
We thought it was obvious enough that it was fake. We had to learn it was not for all people reading it. So we took it down now. Apparently, also the DNS records are changed/deleted, so soon enough you won't get to this site using openlinux.org anyways.
We thought, it would not spread from Slashdot before we stop it (ie, this weekend). It was funny to follow people speculating and finding out about this site. Some people pointed out good reasons why this is hoax/parody, some bad or wrong reasons. Overall, we hope most people concluded it indeed was a parody.
Our submit to Slashdot concluded with "Is this real?" - sadly enough, Slashdot's editor wrote up a new text without any hints about this. We can't blame him, he maby was just in a hurry..
Nothing got hacked, it's just we got a previously used IP for this machine, so why not having some fun content on it? We apologize for any inconviences arised though! We didn't suspect it would be taken so serious. Some hints in the text proving this weren't read (talking about XML on a Server OS?), others were found but still taken serious. Please stop spreading this fake news, and if you know some sites who published it, please inform them to update their content. Thanks.

Mac OS X Hints - enabling Quartz 2D Extreme in Tiger
Go ahead and hate Apple all you want. I couldn't care less if I tried. Just get a grip on the facts instead of making things up.

You might be a terrorist . . .
. . . if your name is Osama Bin Foxworthy.
Have you had a chance to explore noodle theory?
A swiGER? Gosh! That's just about my favorite animal. (Bred for its skills in magic.)
Right. So, according to the article, he was arrested for and charged with "stealing services".
What's your point?
Uh, PRAM batteries?
Just to be pedantic.
He meant it figuratively, not literally!
No, you have the right not to be kept under arrest if there is no cause. It does not prevent your arrest.

I take it you've never been touched by His noodley appendage.
Arrrr, we don 't need no overhaulin' of th' copyright laws.
We need a keelhaulin' of 'em.

My guess is that the OP has few, if any, friends.
To my knowledge, the British version has never featured the headline "I Was Bigfoot's Love Slave!"
No, you're thinking of the Register.
Yeah, shaped charge batteries suck.
I know this is sort of OT, but until recently, I thought a zerg rush was a term from bukkake. =)
Huh?

Comparing them to any kind of car is pretty pointless.
You must be new here. This is slashdot, where car analogies are king.

W stands for Weasel.
You stuck your penis in my peanut butter!
You got peanut butter on my penis!
Somehow, I don't think Reese's Penis Butter Cups are ever going to be a big hit.

Q. How many emo kids does it take to change a light bulb?
A. None. They just sit there in the dark feeling sorry for themselves.
So, basically, Scuttlemonkey fucked up.
I think you're right. It's a joke/hoax or a hoax/joke (but not a joex/hoaks). No way is this real. Too many tell tale signs give it away.
#1 is who bases a distro on an unstable kernel?
