Or at least, supervision by people who know how computers work? 4GB is perfectly sensible for a 32-bit x86; the virtual address space is only 4GB, but the physical address spaces is larger (at least 36 bits on all popular processors). Yes, that means it's awkward to use more than 4GB in a single application, but so what? Using more than 4GB across the system is perfectly transparent.
It seems just plain wrong that the virtual address space is smaller than the physical address space. Shouldn't it be the other way around?
Very good -- you do realize that, noble as your intentions are, you're not likely to reproduce. The bar-hopping sex-starved people you describe will not have that problem.
ARGH! I absolutely hate it when people uneqivocally say that hurricanes are worse than tornadoes. Yes, the chances of a tornado actually hitting you are less, but if it does, you're screwed six ways from Sunday even if it's only an F2.
Plus, you ALWAYS know where a hurricane is and you have time to get out of the way. That's a hell of a lot better than the 30 seconds a tornado gives you when it appears.
I know that a 486SX/20 was introduced AFTER the original 486/25 and/33, and also remember laughing because it was SLOWER than the 386DX/33 I bought in 1991. I'm not sure about a 486SX/16, because I *know* that the 386 was introduced at a speed of 16 Mhz. He might have meant that.
Does the Win32 device driver architecture actually hold water, or is it junk compared to the way Linux does it? If Win32's model is worth something, it might not be a horrible thing for those drivers to become the standard.
You knew you were in for an experience when you heard the Kilrathi speaking. Then there was Spirit's death (wingman for your first mission ever in WC1), and the romance with Angel. On top of all this, you were always wondering who the traitor was.
I'd probably consider it a little corny today, but not even the Final Fantasy series can match the effect this game had on me.
As an aside, does anyone else agree that the immersion is greater with *unspoken* text and your name than with spoken text and generic names/pronouns?
If Intel's fabs are ahead of AMD's, wouldn't that mean it costs less for Intel to produce a P4 than AMD an Athlon? If so, that's *very* bad news for AMD, since they can't command the retail price an Intel-branded chip can, and thus recoup costs.
The Remote Self-Replicating Robot Explorer Probe. Be afraid.
A good engineer never says never. You might need the Infinite Improbability Drive to make it work, but there you go.

No.

Ballmer and MC Rove come to mind.
Rabbi? She? I must be a bit behind the times on Judaism.
Better example: Catholics vs. Lutherans.
(Joint Declaration my ass...)
If you DON'T see the need for a pre-nup, you're incredibly naive. Love is an emotion, and as such, can and does change.
Let me take a guess:
Spacecraft 2000-2100 AD by Stewart Cowley, (c)1978.

Still on my bookshelf. Pretty cool stuff, actually -- too bad time's started to go past the backstory they set up. Reality sucks, doesn't it? (grin)

Do the math.

Signed, a Texas resident.
And? Jerry Springer and Baywatch have about a billion viewers. Dragonball Z has about a billion episodes. Quantity does not equal quality.

Methinks that was the *actual* intent of the post.
I think the line was "two long boobless hours", actually.

Or at the very least, looser with the tongue.
... I didn't know I had an evil twin!

You *do* know that Chairman Bill had a hand in the software for that machine, right?
What's funny is the game that Blackley's name is attached to:
Tresspasser.
Sums it up, I think.
and the Heart of Gold. We have a *real* job for the Infinite Improbability Drive now.
