Try putting two senior software engineers at the same keyboard and monitor... Then accept bets on which one gets smacked on the head with mouse first:)
No, actually I'm not. To be honest I was agreeing with you.
Microsoft will probably never be able to please the the Linux crowd. They don't use their products, at least not unless they have to, so of course Microsoft can never please them.
Maybe because they can? I live in a rural area by choice mind you.
I'm a Software Engineer and work at home so I had to pay for the expensive satellite gear. My only other option is dialup or $250+ for ISDN.
Let's face it the satellite providers know they have us right where they want us:(
Of course in my case it's really frustrating I'm only about a mile too far out for DSL!
Basically because ping time with satellites sux big time:( I know from experience. Like one poster already mentioned, it makes large downloads better but that's about it.
It is better than modem though:)
I am a parent to, and I most definitely do not endorse it! It's my right, privilage and responsibility as a parent watch out for my child not Big Brother.
So, keep your stupid RFIDs away from my kid! Now, if you have tech that would zap the crap out of any boy that gets too close to her, give me a call:)
Nice theory but, you miss a major point. If a software program were to stay in it's current form, i.e. no new features only bug fixes then your theory would hold true.
This is almost never the case though. Software is continously evolving. Security holes and bugs are being fixed but when new features are added you have a good chance of introducing new ones, and the cycle continues.
Yeah, good point. Sorry, about my little rant. Guess, I'm just a little pissed that I can't get DSL where I'm at. The whole jealousy thing:)
Of course I did choose to live in the middle of nowhere:)
Good luck to you!:)
Dude, consider yourself lucky. The only boadband I can get is satellite and they really gouge you because they know you don't have a choice.
Takes about $600 for the equipment. Yes, you have to buy the equipment:(
I wish that was funnier. I tend to do that a lot myself. Sometimes it just helps the thought process.
Of course I've also been known to start yelling at my computer and/or threatening it with a glass of water....hmmm...um... never mind....
I'm with both of you on this. I get accused of being argumentive and combative also. But, it's not that at all. In fact I may actually agree with the person I'm debating, at least to a certain point. I just like exploring other possibilities.
I also sometimes get accused of being cold or indifferent. Again, that's not on purpose. I just find it extremely tiring to participate in the standard "small talk".
Nah, they are a RIAA wanabe. Their problem is they are only pissing people off or people are ignoring them or both.
You're right on one point their tactics are very similar....,hmmm.. maybe the RIAA will sue them for copying their business tactics:)

OO in COBOL? Now that is scary! Yes, I have paid my dues writing COBOL programs and don't miss it at all thank you very much :)
As a side benefit you won't have to wear your tin foil hat inside anymore!

Granted reply was a bit short :)
Yes, and your point is?

Cool, for a minute there you sounded like Darl :)
Now I have that stupid song stuck in my head.. Thanks a lot :)
No of course there will be a difference. This one will cost you...
Ahhh.. crap I can't do it... :)

Actually, that's fine by me. Since I don't frequent sites that put up crap like this!
Older guys... hell if I could block ALL guys from calling her, except of course her grandfather and I, I would pay quadruple!!
Well how about smokes crack :)

Definitely not! The only time to jump ship is when, if ever, Linux no longer meets your needs.

Second hand microwaves kill. "Yes, I mind very much if you Cell." Sorry, I know this is pretty lame :)

Well nobody but the poor Win XP admins who installed the patch :)
