which basically means that they only care about stealing customers form Google, Yahoo, and Apple... and that they don't give a damn about you customer....
but finally in 2011 I can move emails across folders...

I've been doing this for ages on Android using K-9. Android is about choice... make use of it.;)
you like to hack, to spend time looking for an alternative email client that fits your needs and so on. I like to have something that is full-featured and works out of the box because I like to spend my time differently.
I don't think that something you pay that lacks features out of the box is about choice, it's just about lack of features
agreed I have been using over FAT as it supports files larger than 2GiB. Through FUSE you can get RW capabilities for free http://www.tuxera.com/community/ntfs-3g-download/ . A bit slow in writing though...
As to the charge of "silenced", I'll wait and see what that really means. If he was ordered to destroy scientific publications with his claims or cease his research discussions it's one thing.
checked on web of science the guy has no peer reviewed scientific publications
the device is just not powerful enough to afford freeing up control on application that can run in background.
So here Apple is right. I see already angry customers that, after having installed a gazillion apps running in background, put the blame on Apple for the device unresponsiveness.
Probably in the future when more powerful mobile cpu's will be available...
I find your arguments interesting although we might debate about them. I was trying just to bring to the attention that the lack of free public availability of scientific publications is a way more important issue in science at the moment. Let alone the amazingly unfair conditions that rule content submission (copyright transfer to the publisher )
Back To your point now. The fact that Mathematica is not free as in beer, doesn't seem to me a scandalous. It's like if a chemist complained that the NMR equipment he used to identify his compound wasn't free. The fact that Mathematica is not free as in speech is definitely an issue, but going on with the chemistry parallel then the chemist should complain that that the manufacturer doesn't disclose the NMR equipment design (Which he will not!). So it is up to the chemist to verify the reliability of a certain model of NMR apparatus before publishing results, as the mathematician should do with Mathematica. If it would happen that Bruker (NMR producer) would start building unreliable devices I assure you it would be out of market in few years.

Actually the whole thing IS NOT about FINDING SOLUTION of the Navier-Stokes equations, but rather the PROOF of THE EXISTENCE OF A FORMAL SOLUTION. You still have to find it,
either analytically or (most probably) numerically.
Bottom line: about this a mathematician gets horny, an engineer says SO WHAT!!!

"...What's the point of my post? That what's best for you isn't necessarily what's best for the rest of us...."
I think that the question then boils down to how big is "the rest of us", I mean how many people find that with 256 MB "the machine just runs fine". Not to contradict you, but I humbly think that this figure is rather small so your parent had a point
well you can just download the jar files and put it in the Azureus app directory in the right place, or better exploit the autoupdate feature of Azureus. It just works! I am using it right now in Tiger with the preview release of Java 1.5
cheers

then if governments and parliaments have such a tiny importance let's get rid of them!
me dumbass that was for 4.0 for 4.1 was the one in the parent post... who was the right...
that's the factory repository. As far I understood, and I might be mistaken, that's bleeding edge. You should rather use this one click install http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/STABLE:/Extra-Apps/openSUSE_11.0/KDE4-DEFAULT.ymp

I hope they fixed the problem with some recovered files appearing randomly in the trash after reboot.
In apple forums many people were affected.
Anybody here had the same problem with 10.4.0?

If you belong to an institution and you need access to publications to carry out your work than the institution is supposed to pay subscriptions.
If you are an hobbist who happens to read research papers than you bring your butt to the next university library.
The only purpose of having freely availeble research papers in electronic form is to allow masses to access to it. But what for?...
I stand corrected!
