How is someone taking 50K watts and not being noticed? A $5000-$6000 power bill for a private home is going to set off some alarms I would think, not to mention can you even get that kind of power off the pole?
CNN, Fox, MSNBC, etc. start losing eyeballs to more regionally-oriented channels (e.g. NWCN in the Portland-Seattle corridor, where you get news that's local enough to matter directly, but regional and global enough to keep you apprised of stuff you might want or need to know. Yes it's run by Comcast, but it does open more than a couple of doors to competing local interests who want to do similar things).
I see what you are saying with this but I think Howard Stern proved that theory wrong, at least in radio. He was unable to get syndication in markets for a while simply because program directors thought you had to know local streets and high schools, etc. As it turns out, not many people give a shit about that stuff. Most local news programs have low production values and who really wants to hear about the local AAA baseball team winning or losing? Orange County, CA has a few local stations already and they all suck IMHO.
From what I was reading the EBS system started out requiring them to test weekly at random days and times between 8:30AM and sunset. I wouldn't doubt that they are now just subject to random days and times to include the whole 24 hours but I can't confirm. In my own experience they've come on day or night though.
Your missing the point of my statement which is that it's damned near impossible to get into a cable market. It's great that your satellite dish can receive signals from the sky reliably, call me when you can make a phone call, pull down 2-3 different movies and surf the web at 10mbs reliably. All that with not much latency either...
I would agree cable providers used to be pretty bad with service. But lately they are usually quite responsive, sometimes the same day, and that's after talking to them probably 150 times in the last year (job related - East to West coast cable co's.)
But I think the question is, how does a business get into the cable market without just actually purchasing the whole cable company. It's not like Cox, Comcast, Adelphia, etc. are allowing anyone to even attempt to sell cable in their cities. DirecTV and DSL don't seem to have anything on a solid cable line yet, so while it is technically a competing business IMHO they both suck in comparison.
I think what I was trying to say is that the habanero doesn't have the same viscosity that a jalapeno does to make it to the exit. I've had both of them as god intended, and I've never experienced the burn that jalapenos can sometimes provide. YMMV.
As all hot pepper eaters should know, it's not the heat in the pepper, it's the juice. Habanero's are fine the next day, but the Jalapeno has quite a bit of juice that doesn't seem to go away.:)
I think a cult is a bit like pornography. You know it when you see the piles of bodies.
Is that your own quote? If so, nice job! I'm going to have to remember that.

I don't know that hatred of a pyramid scheme is bigotry...

Come on man, PCI data? Why must I research your post? ;)
This guy makes wacky pronouncements over and over again which amount to nothing. Why publicize him even further? Slow news day?

Well, if you can't see him you may actually only be moments away from death!

You must be fun at parties...
It's funny how the maximum posted limit in the US was at 55 MPH and now it's past 65MPH. That has do with safety doesn't it?
~S
Yes, even after I tried reading it again.

I've never put it in that perspective before. I like it. :)

I have a feeling this a lawyer thing but you'd think most billionaires would feel some kind of shame after a while, I know I would.

Why don't they just sign the "We'll Do Whatever The Fuck We Want Anytime We Want Act" and just get it over with already?

Is there any way the key would simply just give different data and not destroy it? I realize the file size might not add up, but look at OJ.

You do realize that once they start providing TV service over fiber that they will do EBS tests also right?

What a marvelous first post referencing a first post while being understated. :)
