I've gotten all the updates for my Wii. They don't delete any homebrew content. I think they disabled a couple things, like programs that allow you to run pirated Wii games, but they pretty much left all the homebrew completely intact.
I should sue my university then, because there was many lecture halls that didn't get a signal. Particularly ones that were in the basements of buildings. Come to think of it, my cell phone doesn't work in the elevator, or basement of my apartment building either. Is there some kind of law that says you have to construct a building in such a way so that it doesn't block cellphone signals? I think a theatre could use it as a selling point. Don't jam the signals. Just construct the building in such a way as to block the signal. Would make for a much more pleasant movie viewing experience.
If you can afford the TV and the electricity to run the TV, I doubt you would have much a of problem scraping together $40 for the tuner. If you are that strapped for cash that you can't get $40 together, maybe you should go a little while without TV, You've had a couple years to prepare, Save a couple dollars a month in a jar to pay for it.
Pretty bad drawing. You could probably do a better job if you were a good artist, without any kind of optical device. Galileo gets the credit because his drawings actually looked good.
I agree. I was exposed to this game in high school. It was a pretty fun game. Can't say it really inspired me to do drugs, or not do drugs for that matter. Having no other expenses, I could have afforded an iPhone at the time, had they existed.
But Walmart didn't just become huge for no reason. Walmart is what every other store wants to become. It's just that all the other stores are doing a really bad job.
I think it depends where you live. I know a couple grocery stores where I live (Ottawa, Canada) display the "scanning code of conduct" that states that if they price marked doesn't match the scanned price, you the difference off the marked price, or something like that. Don't know if it's a law, or something they just all agree on so that government doesn't institute even larger fines when things get mispriced.
Cheaters or not, there's definitely problems with lots of certs out there. It's too easy to get a cert by simply studying the training guide, and doing example test after example test in order to pass the exam, and still not know how to practially apply any of it when you actually have your cert. I've seen a few too many MCDBA who couldn't write a simple join query, or set up log shipping, to know that most certs, by themselves are pretty irrelevant.
Or you could just use one of those $700 spaceball dohickeys. Talk about overpriced. You could basically accomplish the same thing with a couple $50 joysticks.
That's what they said about guitars, and drums sets, and dance mats, and 3D cards, and steering wheels, and flight sticks with throttle and rudder. But it doesn't stop people from making tons of money selling these things.
I would also like to add, "drive less". We are actually doing a pretty good job as far as planting trees goes. Now if people would just stop driving their cars so much, we'd be much better off.
Do the producers of Heroes have to pay for stealing the basic theme from X-Men? I mean, it's not exactly the same, but there are a lot of similarities. People get super human powers that are usually brought out during events of hightened aggression/emotion. And there's this company/school set up by people with these powers to try to get people to use these powers for good. And there's a bunch of bad guys with powers. Yeah. Pretty similar if you ask me.
I haven't gotten around to watching the new movie yet, but the old BBC 6 episode miniseries of HHGTHG actually impressed me quite a bit. They had to cut out quite a bit, but what was there was true gold. I'm sure it could be done well as a feature lenght movie. Just based on the fact that it was originally done on radio means that it would probably be quite well translated in to a movie.
I really don't get what's so evil about Nintendo. So they have some DRM to prevent you from running burned copies of games. The different between console DRM, and PC DRM, is that consoles don't actually cause any grief on the user to implement their DRM. Put the disc in, you get to play. For those who are worried about scratched disks, well, treat you stuff better. I've still have Gamecube discs from 6 years ago that work fine. And computer game CDs from 12 years ago that still work. Nintendo has been pretty lenient about running home brew on their consoles. Even though they have released multiple updates, they still haven't stopped homebrew from running. The last update didn't even remove the homebrew channel.
That's the reason I've turned off automatic installation of updates. I hate the screen that keeps on bugging me to reboot. Leave the computer for more than 10 minutes, and it will reboot and lose all your work. Vista is even worse, as often the message doesn't even appear and gets hidden under other windows, causing the computer to spontaneously reboot without any noticeable warning.
Really depends if you can have a doctor you can trust. One could also argue that the doctor is being paid by the drug company to push the vaccines. Not saying it's true in all cases, or the majority of cases, but I wouldn't put it past some doctors.
That last one is probably the worst. If you buy the laptop, you aren't even free to install whichever software you like. You must keep the original software intact, so that any upgrades can be applied.
I'm only worried about whether it's easy to install. When I was looking for making a PVR a couple years ago, I tried with Myth. I really did. I tried for days reading through the docs, trying to configure MySQL and set up databases. Trying to get my TV Tuner to work correctly. In the end, I downloaded a trial of SageTV and had everything up and running in 20 minutes. Haven't looked back since. Best $80 I ever spent. I use open source when possible, but not when it's that much more work than the alternative.
If you want 2D Mario, there are multiple versions of Paper Mario available. I for one, love Mario in 3D. Mario Galaxy gave me way more fun than Mario 1 or 2 ever did.
Have you actually gone back and played any of those old games. Mario Kart SNES version is terrible. I liked it at the time, and it was a great game, but it can't hold a candle to MK Wii. I think the only thing I wish they would bring back, was the leaf, so that you could do high jumps. Other than that, I have to say that MK Wii is by far the best Mario Kart of all time.
Within the last 10 years where I've lived, they have slowly outlawed tobacco in enclosed public places. Therefore, if you go out to the bar, the only place people can smoke is outside, on the patio. Ever since they did this, I've started to notice just how much of a problem the smoke was. It's really nice to be able to go into a restaurant, and not have to worry about smokers ruining the experience.

So, would that leave you with a Redundant Independant Array of Atoms (RIAA)? Perfect for storing my music.
Maybe they can just create a customized version of FlightGear.

In Canada, our milk comes in bags.

Your sig works out great for this post.
