    This is a C program that when run as root does bad things. Which is totally unexpected result compared to what any other C (or python or perl or bash or lisp) program that does bad things can do when run as root (or just having bad person logged in as root could do)

    This particular malware is a C program that must be run as root to do its damage. I'm sure porting it to BSD and running it as root would be just as bad there as on Linux

    look at a map of the lines we already have, we run pipes by the great lakes and through states that have water table near the surface. we've had leaks already, this is just same thing

    Why wouldn't it. The worse that could happen is that reactor head replacement would be done when needed, so it would start to leak, into containment. Then the thing would be powered down and cooled for weeks on recirculated coolant.......*yawn*

    Wait till you get older, reading normal books gets almost painful. On my Kindle I can make the fonts as big as I want. I hardly read paper books any more since now that I'm over half a century old it's kind of tiring after more than 30 minutes. But I can go for hours on an e-reader

    You're confused, if a pipeline breaks they turn the pumps off and fix it. Crude oil, being 100% natural, gets broken down by bacteria that eat it. We already have huge, huge volume of oil and petroleum products going through massive pipe system, look it up.

    So now the oil will be transported by truck and rail, which of course pollutes much, much less than sending it through a pipe via electric pumps.

    No, there is a better preparation, ground resistors for transformers so the grid doesn't even need to be shut down. Solved problem, just need to spend the money and do it; estimated cost by Michio Kaku and other members of the American Physical Society was less than $200 million. chump change, cheap insurance.
