    you must be new to this country. Here we take tax dollars from the public, spend it doing some research, and also spend it paying some scientific publishing agencies to publish articles and data, which then charge the public money to view the articles, and the profits are kept by the agencies with no royalties to either the researchers or the public that paid for it. Enjoy your double penetration with no lube.

    your social security card isn't an ID and is completely useless as such (and easily forged too). No police officer, city, state or local, will ever ask you to prove your identity with a social security card. In fact, now the government says don't carry your social security card with you because you open yourself to identify theft (the only thing related to ID that a social security card can do because financial institutions are so very stupid when it comes to ID and security). A passport is not required of citizens inside the country. Can be used as an ID, but not required.

    and a nice bunch of retired folk with nothing better to do, and those who love legal soap operas can get the innocent off the hook. There is no civic duty, that's a lie of those who love involuntary servitude. the right American way would be for paid volunteers to do jury service (and having to pay would eliminate frivolous trials). I've lost hundreds of dollars a day serving on a jury for cases that were stupid (DUI and traffic violation), the state needs to pay me hundreds of dollars of day to ever engage in such waste of my time again.

    right on, it's more important to vote, to hire/fire local judges, and to get the right leader to appoint the right kind of supreme court justice (and last time I checked they weren't using juries). Vote in 2008, give the status quo a heave ho!
