Beware of those air purifiers. According to an EPA report they can cause more harm than good. Look into them, in particular the Ionic Breeze serries have been known to cause "a burning sensation" in mouths, noses, airways and lungs. Were I you, I would research more into the EPA site to try and find some solid numbers. Consumer Reports may not be a bad reference either.
What is the point of rating a shootem up with graphic effects? As for the swearing, who gives a shite? You can hear worse out in the streets on a daily basis. The problem is not in video game ratings, or even the content. True if there was a game that bordered on porn, then some warning is needed for parents who ar ein the dark of what their children are playing. As a parent myself, I will not rely solely on a label. It is my responsability as a parent to monitor the activities of my child. This includes being the censor for music, movies, and video games. I refuse to let a label dictate what I am to let my child watch. I have run into situations where the label said PG yet it should have been higher than that. By interacting with your child you learn more about them, especially as they get older. That generation gap doesn't become a rift!
My point is labels don't mean anything. What one person finds offensive, another may not. And vice versa. It isn't video games, music, or tv violence responsible for some peoples actions. It just happens sometimes. Bad parenting, psycosis, nuerosis, who the hell knows. But should my child shoot up her school, I surely wouldn't lay the blame where it doesn't belong. She knows real, from pretend or play. And she knows right from wrong.
Does this mean that on EFNET there will be thousands of AOL users asking "I w4nT 2 b 1337 h0w d0 1 h4> Microsoft, we didn't make AOL, we made it worser.
Parent post hit the nail on the head about X11. I have had more problems trying to configure X11 than with anything else on my system. I run a TNT-2 32meg video card in my SuSe box, with hardware acceleration disabled because I can not properly configure X11. I have downloaded the current X11 pakage for the nVidia card, but I am afraid to install it as my current configuration works fine. I see no point in messing with a good hting. And as I posted elsewhere on this, I still use a Windows box for games, so I really don't need the graphics acceleration. Though it would be nice to have my Linux box 100% configured and working properly. I think it futile though just to do all that to watch videos.
As a SuSe home user for 3 years, I say it's about time. This tool has made SuSe the perfect distro for a Linux newb such as myself. Had it not been for the YAST module I believe I would have spent countless hours, trying to figure out configurations.
Though the documentation was lacking in the SuSe distro, YAST made my transition from a strictly Windows user to a multi OS user. I now use Windows strictly for playing those games that refuse to work proerly under WINE. PSSST MESSAGE TO THE OPEN SOURCE COMMUNITY. How about improving the video acceleration of Linux! We need better games. And yes I did read the GAMES FOR LINUX ARTICLE
At any rate the article made no mention of YAST2 though. Is this to remain outside the GPL?
So what they have done is written more a program, which installs something unbeknownst to the user ( isnt this illegal?) and it phones home to a server ( isnt this harvesting and also illegal? ). I say throw the book at the PRATS!
It is actually the beginnings of the Martian Invasion.

I agree with you. As an upandcoming programmer, I have noticed little use for knowing how to solve equations. I thought when I first got started messing about with computers that it was very math intense, I have found the opposite to be true. Yet everyone still insists that to have naything to do with computers you need a strong math foundation. This is a myth. The fact is, that if doing complex calculations in a subroutine are your math skills really good enough to do in your head? Or rather are you going to simply use a calculator to check your math.
Point being math os important for programming, just not to the point that it is made out to be. I have found that it is more important to know the order of operations in solving complex equations. I feel however that having a strong grasp on the rules of math is more important than how well you solve the equation itself.
Ok Mr Powers. I'll tell you what Linux has that BSD doesn't. Linux has the "lil penguin". Though granted BSD has the "lil devil". It is in interesting question you pose to Linux users.
I know how it ends, as most of us do. So why go see it other than the effects?
Anyone remember War of the Worlds: The TV Series? I do, what a turd that was.
Well at any rate, I plan on seeing it and honoring Orsons performance, which is available at you local library or somewhere on the web I'm sure. By running around madly, screaming at the top of my lungs that the Martians have landed! The original broadcast is truely outstanding, as far as radio drama. Yes I am a fan of radio shows. I have many of the audio shows of Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Homes. If you haven't heard a copy of the original broadcast of WoTW, stop by your local library or download it from the net. It's worth a listen.
YUP, that's my attitude. And let me tell you any one of my machines would be the last one to be a zombie box for some dumbshite to use for a DDoS attack, or to spread worms. I watch my computers closely, I don't trust a half-ass coded program to do it for me.
When in doubt toss it out. If you don't know what the program does, don't install it. I use regmon when installing new software. I wanna know what gets installed by that exe.
Yeah! I have CmdrTaco's powers. I am NETMAN. Able to crash any hardware or software I physically touch. Oh wait, nevermind I forgot Windows does that for us.
Here is my delima. I pay my phone bill, it is my cell phone. Yet 98% of the calls I recieve are work related. We have a zero tolerance policy also for cell phones. Which I adhere to as does everyone else. When I forget to turn MY phone back on after leaving work, I get my ass chewed. Yet my company pays for none of the minutes they use. I recently had my cell phone disconnected for currency issues ( lack thereof ). I was told that I had one week in which to have it turned back on or lose my job.
I had no clue what to do in this situation either. It has gotten to the point where I could no longer afford the bill I was getting every month for a service that turned out to be work related. I have tried showing and even turning in a copy of my cell bill showing the company use, and requesting reimbursement. You know what, it never happened. Yet make one long distance call at work, and you get blasted.
Well to date many Americans have lost many freedoms in the name of a false sense of security. So that "Big Brother" can keep us safe. Instead of closing borders, and checking the imigrant population hell lets just become socialist. Thats what has happened to this country.
I wanna know. Is the broadband wiretap so they can track "terrorists"? Who are these terrorists? Are/. readers aware that under the Patriot Act any US born citizen suspected of terrorism can be held unjustly and indefinitely without being charged. How would you like it if some screw up landed you in the pokey for the next 20 years? It could happen.
I hate politics. It'll start a fight quiker than a your mamma joke. But I think it's time the American people tell our leaders that enough is enough. Washington needs a check up from the neck up.
If the people don't follow then who do the leaders lead?

At time of hire, it was never said that I have to have a cell phone. Just a home phone to be reached.
And yet here you are costing the company money using their bandwidth.
Intersting, there seems to be no inteligent life in this part of the office.
In protest I will wear no pants to work tomorrow! Does underwear count?
