  6. Burn The Computer? on Verizon to Reveal Customers in DMCA Subpoena Case · · Score: 1

I do not know jack about the law, but can not the people who the ISP have contacted simply toast their computers? [By toast I mean burn/destroy them to the point of no data gathering possible] Would this not hinder any type of searching that the RIAA wants/needs to do? I realize that once a search warrant has been issued you are not able to destroy evidence, but if these people have not been served yet they are able to do this, correct?
I also realize that the ISP has the info the RIAA is after, but wouldnâ(TM)t toasting the computer help anything along. [By help I mean, keeping the user out of the Big House].

I was having a problem with calls at all hours of the day. I finally added the 'disconnected' tones to the first part of my answering machine message, which you can find from a google.com search, and since then I get maybe 2 calls a week rather then the 10 a day I used to get.
For anyone who wants to cut down on calls, without trying the approach of using the courts, I would higly suggest this method.

As I said I waited 2 years past the time that I should have had it taken out. Before I had it removed it was to the point that I could do nothing with my right hand do to this in/on my wrist; I mean nothing (Being right handed and lonely didnt help. heh) That is why I am in the condition that I am now. The scar isnt horrible but its there, they had to widen the cut due to the size of the cyst they removed.
As I failed to mention in my first post I have it once again growing back, but at a much slower rate, which means in about 5-9 years I will be due to have it removed again.

  19. I had the same thing on Mouse Not Required? · · Score: 2, Informative

Speaking from experience of having those damn things I suggest that you get to a doc's office asap and have them removed before they get worse. I waited over two years to have it removed and im left with a nasty scar on the upside of my wrist and about 30-50% weight abality in my right wrist. The worst thing about it is that the scar tissue is so bad that the bump from that is bigger then the lump that I had from the Cysts.

  20. Re:Moral obligation? I'd say so. on Symantec Claims They Knew About Slammer In Advance · · Score: 1

But if you had sent out a notice (Patch) saying that the part was bad and the way for the user to fix it was to bring it in (Apply patch) then what could you be held accountable for? If that is the case every computer that I have ever worked on I could be held accountable when someone gets a virus, software doesnt work due to outdate versions and the lack of updates. It doesnt work that way.
You were pretty close with that example but missed the part that you had OFFERED a fix for it, but the people who were using the product chose not to use it.
Yeah it is kind of shitty that Symantec sat on this, if they did, but they are only REQUIRED to give their service to their customers. We can talk about how great the Internet is as a group thing, etc. But I do not recall the last time my competitor called me up to tell me of the issues I *might* have if I do not patch/fix/whatever a certain part of my network. The are a business not a free site for updates and patches.
