Who the hell would download an app to buy a ticket?
Someone who is told they must download an app to buy a ticket. But that isn't even what has happened here. They were told they have to download an app and create an account after already buying the ticket.
Man finds CD. Asks a random person. "What is this?". "It's a CD.", they reply. "What do I do with it?" "You Play it." "With What?" "A CD Player"
4 hours later, man arrives at Best Buy and asks geek squad where he can purchase a CD player. He leaves with a $1500 laptop and an external drive.
3 hours later he manages to boot into Windows 10. He places the CD into the drive as instructed. After 4 more hours he is able to get into File Explorer. He clicks on all the files but keeps getting errors. Realizing something was wrong, he calls the help line. The number was included in the readme.txt.
The support technician spoke English, but had a heavy accent. It was a back and forth process but after about 3 and a half weeks they had everything squared away. When the updated CD arrived to his house, they remoted into his computer and installed it for him just to make sure there were no hiccups.
The man came away refreshed. He would definitely do business with them again. In fact, he was so satisfied with the experience he shared the CD with everyone he met (but never used the laptop again).
At work, I have a laptop with a docking station for multiple monitors, network and mouse. But I undock it all the time. It's clearly better for me than having just a desktop.
At home, even if I had a "desk" set up and no docking, I still would not ever use a desktop. I just don't want to deal with all the cables, and the bulkiness and immobility, plus laptops have batteries so they don't mind that much if power goes out. I feel like it's not as much that someone doesn't need a laptop because they use the computer at their desk, and moreso that they always use the computer at their desk because they don't have a laptop.
It's worse. All they do is waste your time robotically reading scripts and only can accomplish what you could have done yourself online anyway (unless that's screwed up too). They are like human computer programs. The most basic Virtual Assistant would probably on average be better than either a human or an automated phone system.
Truth. Pretty much how I feel about it. People saying they corrupted their drive because they pulled the damn thing out are just assuming that had anything to do with it. Anytime I had a usb drive go corrupt (maybe 2-3 times) they were all mysteriously sandisk drives, which I don't really use anymore.
So true. Go to any apartment complex and there is a garbage bin by the mailboxes just for junk mail that is always full. They may as well be sending their mail directly to a dumpster.
I started using Amazon Locker and will probably use that exclusively for everything that is eligible. It's faster and probably better for the environment as it's one less address they have to deliver to. Plus it's one less middle man and one less opportunity for the package to be stolen. They could also probably ditch the boxes as well when using locker, or use reusable containers or something. I don't need the box, just my stuff that's in the box.
You should also shut down the computer. Reseat all connections in the motherboard. Wait 3 days. Have an electrician check the voltages. Once he gives the go ahead, reinstall the operating system. Then go into a clean room temperature controlled at 16 to 19 degrees Celsius and 50% relative humidity. Only then shall you remove the usb drive. But remember, you should never read from that drive again, as you will risk completely destroying it. And will have to restart the entire process.
Yea, soccer is like a sport that never wanted to use a clock, but has no other sane way to end the game. Stoppage time is just a bizarre workaround to never wanting to stop the clock. With that said, it appears to work fine, and is pretty cool.
With a quick google search the term soccer is from the original name of the sport itself, "association football" and not from "Football Association", the governing body. So I don't see how either term is "wrong".
PS calling it "soccer" means you are not in touch with the football world, as there is only one country that calls it that way (retaining the name "football" for a game played mostly by holding and throwing the ball)
Na, we here in the US know other countries call it football. We call it soccer here. It's not that complicated. Football is a word we use for another sport (a sport where every drive ends with a kick by design).
For me, It has nothing to do with "theater experience". Going to a movie theater and watching a movie in a dark crowded room is going out and doing something. Watching a movie on your TV is not that. People will always want to "go out and do something".
Personally, I just don't want to get stuck in a place for 2 to 3 hours.
When I watch movies at home I pause it all the time. And may take a week or so to even watch the entire thing, and may fall asleep not remembering if I watched the entire movie or not. And may dream up the end of the movie or have a dream of me watching the end of the movie. I don't even care if it's a redbox DVD that I had out so long I already bought it. I just want to watch it (or not) stress free.
Meanwhile, movies are getting longer and "free time" is getting shorter...
Postpaid = They charge you whatever they want, and if you don't pay they sell it to a shady collection agency that will call you every day for the rest of your life and try to screw with your credit.
You would think they would benefit from you paying for the service up front, and if they don't provide service they owe you a refund. But nope, they love them some collection agencies and you wasting hours disputing the overly complicated bill.
Vertical video is only a problem if you are holding you're phone horizontally, which is an unnatural way to hold a phone IMO, plus you likely have to use two hands. Yes it screws up the resolution for laptops, TVs, etc... But Instagram isn't designed for that. They made the right choice, and at worst it likely didn't matter either way because people are still going to hold their phone vertically even if the video was shot horizontally.
I never actually used Facebook for anything. And apparently never using Facebook for anything and not logging in for seemingly a decade if not longer means I'm still an "active member" because "YAY YOU HAVE NOTIFICATIONS AND FRIENDS!!!".. Even though I never gave Facebook any identity whatsoever (except my email address......................).
And this is why I hate these companies (ok just one reason). AT&T is my only choice for wired internet. Go to uverse website. 3 options, all bundles, all trial prices, all with forced HBO trials. Scroll down to bottom of page and click "High Speed Internet". 3 new offers, all bundles. Select "UVerse Internet". 3 bundle offers. Select "Fiber Internet", 3 more bundle offers. So basically they want me to sign up for 3 months of a fixed price to a service that I mostly don't want, and after that charge me $26 extra for HBO which I bet they'll likely have some kind of "problem" cancelling, and then after 12 months basically they'll just charge me whatever they want to charge me and if I don't pay they'll send it to collections where some random guy with a heavy accent will call me every couple hours asking for my credit card info. Actually it wouldn't surprise me if this happens before the trail period is up.
So yea, I'm thinking that's probably still a no for me.
The problem with superfoods is that you can get the same "effect" by eating OHTER foods that you may actually enjoy. And even then, it's likely still just in your head.
Vevo was king as far as music videos. Not sure how that happened. But by the time I actually had interest in music videos again, you pretty much could watch all the Vevo music videos on YouTube, which was convenient. I guess that convenience killed Vevo...
I use T-Mobile's. Though the service works well, pretty much all of their client software is a train wreck, all their apps are unusable, and their customer service is like an episode of the twilight zone. If anything goes wrong, you're better off just creating a new account than trying to get it fixed.
Exactly. I stopped clicking on Yelp links and this is the biggest reason. It's not like they are "buried". I just don't click on them anymore. Plus when I did have a Yelp app I didn't really use it much. They basically want you to download their app which doesn't list google links, and then are complaining that Google's app doesn't list their links first.
If I thought the Yelp app was better than Google maps listings, I'd load the app to do these searches. But I just don't think it is. If they are losing Google search relevance, I'm guessing this is the reason. If that means they are getting snuffed out, I guess they are.
Who the hell would download an app to buy a ticket?
Someone who is told they must download an app to buy a ticket. But that isn't even what has happened here. They were told they have to download an app and create an account after already buying the ticket.
So basically this two factor authentication all these companies are trying to force on you is pretty much just a scam to get your phone number.

was not bad enough

Isn't this exactly what we don't want it to do?

It's sort of like snapface and instachat but not quite as good.
