Cosmoe was orginally using the Atheos/Syllable appserver and api libs for it's core
But they have since switched to the opensource beos clone Haiku appserver
I wouldn't exactlly call it a fork...but it was a port of a large chunk of their code
I think the solution here would be a series of dns like databases that would be linked in to one this would prevent another IM type war and create an easy, sane way to communicate with friends and family
ie: not haveing to keep track of one VoIP id, and IM id, a land line, cell phone, etc.
Does the second pic look like a Total Annihilation map to anyone other than me?
i don't know...but it looks like the Google Hype has finally peaked.
Maybe now I can stop hearing about how google is going to rock the world and get back to using google to find stuff on the web.
Last I heard Megs will be a tank...like the G2 comic book
Actually wasn't it: :-)
"Shiiiiiitt?"
>or better yet a holodeck from STrek-TNG
Yeah..but I hear those things often malfunction and you end up eating dinner with Dr. Moriarty.
And who wants to have to prepare for dinner guests on short and random notices
>They are convinced the ratings dropped due to the show competing against other Trek re-runs."
somewhere in a darkened room rick berman sits against the wall...with his fingers in his ears and quitely whispers...
"I'm a GOOD Star Trek producer...and GOOD Star Trek producer...by stories are epic gems...EPIC GEMS!
no that would be the upside down arow that firefox uses as the download icon
I've always thought that thing was giving me the middle finger
> I have another hundred or so CDs I still
>haven't ripped. What is the value of those
>songs to me?
Of course those cds still have a value to you,
drop by your local used cd dealer and it's money
in your pocket.
"The entire system will crumble to bits..."
I thought the system already was in bits
While this was once try, it's not now
The only website I know of that doesn't work
with firefox is my bank's
so of the hundreds of websites I've visited over the
last year or two one dosn't work

always clear why Microsoft wanted Google
"he who controls the spice controls the universe"
or i guess in this case
he who controls the search controls the product placement
I work in construction, we've worked on a few modular homes and from what i've seen you can find some well build ones.
We did some repair work on one last winter, a tree had fell on the house and it was barely damaged.
This particular house was build WAY above code, it was very empressive. I wish i knew who manufactured it, i would have recommended them highly.
It's Saddam's long lost WMDs..
(biological division of course)
let's not forget how Tony Blair and team feel about BBC
another slashdoter in the construction industry... :-)
and i thought i was the only one
what if sombody were to:
(1)Incorporate a disposible business
(2)Break stupid patent
(3)Get sued
(4)Make asses of patent holder in court
wow i didn't know rush limbaugh read slashdot
i'm too tired to make my own point....

I've been wishing for this same thing.
I think a directory such as this could be a first step a lot of interesting tech
With a broadband connection and an extention of this service your
home computer ( and anything connected to it) could be only a cell phone away..
"Hey I think i'll call home..see if the mail is in the box..and let's double check that coffee pot==off"
of course this would also lead to the death (or reformating) of the baby bells..and something tells me they won't go without a BIG fight
When you can microwave them for a fireworks show
when you can just go buy the Babylon5 season 1 box set now and see the same story [ me ducks :-) ]
